Five years ago, I was quietly struggling and felt anxious all the time.
Questioning myself with thoughts like “why do I feel out of my body?” and “is this anxiety or something more?”
I was doing all the “right” things…
Eating healthy-ish and working out.
I was keeping up with my busy to-do list.
And yet my mind wouldn’t shut off, my sleep was awful, and I just felt depressed…but couldn’t figure out why.
The only solution my doctor offered was an antidepressant.
So I tried it.
But nothing really changed.
That’s when I learned what no one had explained to me before:
The wild symptoms I was experiencing was perimenopause.
I found a doctor who actually listened and helped me understand what was happening in my body. I started with making simple lifestyle changes.
I changed my evenings so my mind and body could actually wind down.
I made movement a non-negotiable (even on the days I didn’t feel like it).
I stopped dieting and restricting and started giving my body what it was begging for.
Slowly… things shifted.
🌿 My anxiety became manageable.
🌙 I slept through the night again
💛 My thoughts felt quieter, my emotions more predictable
😃 And for the first time in a long time, I had my energy back! I no longer wished for mid day naps.
Now I help women over 40 do the same.
