So, I have been thinking on this for over a year. I was blessed to go to visit Annette Garcia at Come Back Ranch Animal Sanctuary two years in a row. Both times, I was able to participate in Equine Therapy with a beautiful horse named Dakoda. Dakoda did not have the easiest start in life. She ended up at a kill auction only because she was a wild horse. The people who captured her at 2 years old, hobbled her (tied her legs together) with barbed wire, cutting her deeply. They hobbled her so they could brand her after her traumatic capture. They couldn’t work with her because she was so wild, so they sent her to slaughter auction. Anette agreed to take her when no other rescues could or would. She has worked determinedly to help her become the most empathetic therapy horse I have ever encountered. Come Back Ranch helps Veterans, Children and really, anyone who needs it to find peace through Equine Therapy. This last weekend, Dakoda worked with 12 people who all had varying levels of confidence with horses, and who all brought their own struggles with trust and pain. Dakoda worked from 9AM to 5PM nurturing their pain away. She is an amazing animal, as are the other horses in training. To say that running this ranch is a huge financial undertaking is an understatement. So, what I want to do, is to gift Dakoda and the other horses a BEMER horse blanket. BEMER is a PEMF device that helps a horse to recover from physical and mental work, and helps guide their systems to relaxation and overall wellness. I would like to ask the community for monetary donations to help make this goal a reality. The unit costs approximately $7000. This gift would mean the world to the horses that it will serve: Those beautiful animals that give so freely to those of us who are broken. If you would like to consider a gift, please DM me.
In the next few weeks, I will also announce a fundraising event to help with the $7000 goal.
In addition, Come Back Ranch is a 501 3c, so you may donate straight to them as well, for tax deductible contributions that help to run the ranch. Please click on their page to see more details information for those donations.
