Toe walking after age 7 isn’t always a habit. In many children, it can be structural. Meaning they may be physically unable to walk flat without proper evaluation and care.

This is Fallon’s story. Her family traveled from Seattle to Arizona to seek specialized care for persistent toe walking.

Severe toe walking is more than a habit. It can be a serious condition called Gastrocnemius-Soleus Equinus. Watch how Dr. Jarman corrects this issue by performing an Achilles lengthening and removing the low-lying soleus muscle. Today we’re sharing a beautiful moment in Alani’s journey — her second and final surgery to correct severe toe walking caused by Gastrocnemius-Soleus Equinus.

This condition made it impossible for her to stand or walk flat. In this video, Dr. Jarman explains what was happening inside her leg (including a low-lying soleus muscle that was blocking the Achilles from lengthening naturally), and how the procedure restores normal movement.

Hoy queremos compartir un momento muy especial en el camino de Alani — su segunda y última cirugía para corregir el toe walking severo (caminar de puntitas) causado por Equino Gastrocnemio-Sóleo (Gastrocnemius-Soleus Equinus).

Esta condición hacía imposible que Alani pudiera pararse o caminar con el pie completamente apoyado. En este video, el Dr. Jarman explica lo que estaba ocurriendo dentro de su pierna (incluyendo un músculo sóleo de implantación baja / low-lying soleus que impedía que el tendón de Aquiles se alargara naturalmente), y cómo este procedimiento ayuda a restaurar el movimiento normal del pie.
