It was my pleasure to be a guest on podcast Adoption Now with host April Fallon, one of the best moms I know. We had a great conversation talking about infertility, grief, resilience, and different paths to parenthood especially adoption!

April Fallon interviews Kim Kriesel, LPC who helps couples who are struggling to grow their family. For many women, not being able to fulfill their expectation of motherhood is the most devastating experience.
Kim and her husband went through infertility and experienced many losses along the way. In overcoming her own grief, her passion now lies in helping others who are experiencing this kind of distress.
In this episode, Kim talks about recognizing the pain surrounding infant loss and infertility. The road to healing is not easy, but having someone who understands can make the journey less lonely. Kim also gives her clients the hope and support they need to explore other options in building a family.

Is there anything greater, stronger and more unbearable than a mother’s grief?

This is the story of the crib that connected two mothers two baby boys. It's the grief in a "never used" resale and the honoring of a memory, years apart, between strangers.

Radical What?!
Radical Acceptance may be a way for us to lessen the grip of anger, bitterness, anxiety, desperation, and all of the other the other ugly, miserable, detestable feelings that haunt us as we travel a dark road.
It may help bring some light to your infertility “world” the way finding a good friend with similar conception challenges does or discovering your next “plan B” - not magic, but one more coping skill to put in your bag of tricks and bring some wellness to your wait.

The concept of radical acceptance when dealing with infertility has been a helpful coping strategy throughout my infertility journey and can be for you too.

Sadly the number of cases I’m hearing about is increasing and the resources in our community our virtually none. I take a non- judgmental stance and believe these parents need to be supported as the gather information, grieve, hope, and make these difficult decisions. These are wanted pregnancies, even IVF pregnancies.

Termination for medical reasons (TFMR) is a topic that no one wants to consider or talk about. It is the taboo within the already taboo topic of baby loss.
