Congratulations to the 2nd Grief Affirming Practice® cohort! It was truly an honor to walk alongside this group of deeply caring, hard working, and compassionate helping professionals. They each opened their hearts with vulnerability and committed to intensive learning about how to help grievers.

Thank you to for hosting us at their beautiful state of the art facilities and inviting their staff to be a part of this cohort.

What an absolute honor and privilege to watch be recognized and selected as the 2025 Greater Phoenix Chamber Athena Young Professional yesterday!! She deeply deserves this honor and I’m so proud to have worked alongside her as a social worker. The speech she delivered was unforgettable … take the time to watch it to gather inspiration and remember how to come together in community. We are absolutely lucky to call you a colleague and advocate.

It’s been a whirlwind few days! After being honored as a recipient at the Arizona Capitol Times Women Achievers of Arizona luncheon, I left immediately to speak at the annual Dignity Memorial Funeral Directors Summit on Compassion Fatigue in Death Care Work.

Because their work is truly 24/7, they asked me to return today to teach the rest of their staff — an incredible honor and testament to their dedication to caring for both the families they serve and their own teams.

The summit was hosted at the Arizona Donor Network, and being surrounded by those who serve bereaved families every single day was deeply moving. I’m grateful to help support the people who sustain compassion in our communities, even in the most difficult moments.

✨ Honored and Grateful ✨

Today I attended the Arizona Capitol Times Women Achievers of Arizona 2025 luncheon, where I was selected as a recipient in the Healthcare category. 💜

It was such an honor to be among so many inspiring women across Arizona who are creating meaningful change in their communities. To be recognized alongside them is both humbling and deeply motivating.

This recognition represents a continued commitment to grief awareness and expanding access to grief affirming therapy for grieving families. I’m grateful to do this work — and to stand among women making Arizona a more compassionate and connected place.

Grateful to have shared space at the 4th Trimester Arizona Summit, teaching about compassion fatigue and the importance of caring for ourselves while we care for others.

Thank you to the organizers for inviting me to be part of such a thoughtful and heart-centered event. 💛

Today marks the final day of the very first cohort of Grief Affirming Practice® training.

What an incredible four days it has been — full of depth, reflection, and transformation. Together, we explored what it means to truly accompany grief, to honor the full humanity of those we serve, and to remember our own beloved dead along the way.

This first cohort showed up with courage, curiosity, and compassion. Watching therapy providers become more grounded, attuned, and grief-affirming in their practice has been profoundly moving.

Here’s to continuing to build a community of grief-informed healers — those who can hold both sorrow and beauty, both loss and love.

🌿 Day 1 of the very first Grief Affirming Practice® Certification cohort through Southwest Institute for Grief & Trauma Studies begins today. I can hardly believe I’ve made it here with this training!

What an honor to gather with this group of professionals who are ready to deepen their relationship with grief — their own and that of those they serve.

This work asks us to slow down, to witness, and to hold space. It’s not easy work, but it’s deeply human work.

Here’s to the next four days of learning, reflection, and deeply feeling.

✨ Today I had the privilege of spending the day at Push Forward 2025, the Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association’s educational conference — and leading a session about grief.

It was an honor to be among survivors, caregivers, family members, professionals — all of us together learning, sharing, listening, and holding space. 💙
Talking about grief isn’t easy, but it’s essential. We explored:

• what grief looks like in the context of spinal cord injury
• normalizing emotions
• tools for coping & emotional resilience
• how to support someone else in their grief journey

What was highlighted for me today was: the courage in sharing stories, the vulnerability in asking hard questions, and the power in sharing openly together (even when the path feels isolating).

Thank you to AZSCIA for putting together Push Forward, and to every person who showed up — your openness and generosity with your stories made today meaningful.

If you’re interested in resources or want to continue the conversation, I’d love to connect. ♥
