One of my clients has an interesting non-profit that might be of interest to all of you, but particularly to you animal lovers. PUMPKIN FOR PIGS is involved in a fund raising day that supports Loundon county farms, animal sanctuaries and rescues. BTW, its not just pigs they are feeding. If you can help her out, and lots of animals, please consider giving.

Pumpkins For Pigs Foundation's mission is to reduce food waste in our communities by diverting viable foodstuffs including pumpkins to farms, animal sanctuaries, and rescues for feed or compost. "We reduce food waste one pumpkin at a time."

The young lady at the fro t desk of my hotel speaks flawless English. She and I have become friends. I asked her to suggest a place for my long run this morning. She said I had to see the tallest statue I. Spain. The story of Christopher Columbus. It’s the shape of half an egg depicting the hatching of a new world. You’ll see in the one photo the three individual ships. He sailed from Puerto de Santa Maria which is about an hour train ride from Sevilla. I visited there on Wednesday. Between exploring the castle and the port and then seeing this statue, my curiosity has been peaked.

When doing craniosacral therapy on toddlers and newborns, sometimes I need to get creative. Often, rather than laying them on the massage table, I hold them in my lap or on my shoulder. When it’s my newest grandchild, I’m even barefoot and very casually attired. I truly believe so much can be improved in a baby’s life with even one session, if not 2-3. Reflux, insomnia, colic, crankiness, failure to latch or even failure to thrive. After all, they have just left the comfy but confined space of the womb and gone through an experience getting into this world.

I love it when the results of Craniosacral Therapy are so evident. This is a 15 month old client that was hospitalized. During aspiration his lung was punctured and air was trapped in his abdominal/chest area and right shoulder area. This is very painful. The doctors had worked to dislodge the air but to no avail. That is when his mother called to see if I’d see the child in the hospital. The X-ray on the right is after the procedure and attempts by the doctors. The X-ray on the left is after Craniosacral Therapy. You’ll notice not only the air in the abdomen/chest area (marked in yellow) is gone but the right shoulder has dropped into place allowing the neck to align also. The doctors were amazed. Did I mention, I LOVE MY JOB!!

Unfortunately long distance running is stressful on the digestive track. Ask any runner how important fueling correctly is for a race to avoid pitfalls the day of the event. With marathon training starting for NYC I’ve turned once again to my gut healer. Beiler’s Broth and fresh garden vegetables (thanks to my neighbor with a green thumb). This concoction of 4 green vegetables restores balance to the digestive track. Organic celery, parsley, green beans, and zucchini squash with Thyme. I decided to add a few chia seeds this time.

Starting our brunch with a fresh squeeze. Meditation Morning and Kale Inspiration. These lovely running buddies cleaned up beautifully to wish me a Happy and Yummy Birthday. Friends make celebrations even better.

After a few days at the beach I’m trying to decide if I’m more gypsy or mermaid. Hmmm maybe it doesn’t really matter. But knowing what makes your heart sing is important. I’ve promised myself to explore a different East coast beach every other weekend this summer. What makes your heart sing? When will you do that again?
