As we come to the end of Transgender Awareness Week and prepare for Transgender Day of Remembrance tomorrow, we wanted to take a moment to share some reminders.

Trans Awareness Week serves as a time of visibility, education, and celebration. It is also important to recognize the need to advocate and speak up regarding issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that the trans community faces on a daily basis.

On Trans Day of Remembrance, we honor every trans life that has been lost, silenced, or forgotten due to violence driven by transphobia and discrimination.

We hope that this week will serve as an inspiration to increase your advocacy efforts and support for the trans community. Here are some simple steps that you can take to become a stronger ally:

🩵Learn about the experiences of trans people by taking the steps to educate yourself.
🩷Listen to trans voices. Listen with an open mind when people share about their lives and experiences.
🤍Talk to friends and family about the importance of standing up for trans rights.

October is National ADHD Awareness Month!

It’s important to highlight that ADHD is complex and can look very different for each individual. ADHD isn’t just about being “hyper” or “distracted,” it’s a neurodevelopment condition that impacts the way the brain functions and processes information.

If you relate to some of the symptoms of ADHD, seeking therapy can be a helpful tool in navigating the challenges you might face while also celebrating the differences that make you unique.

We believe that everyone deserves support, understanding, and access to the tools to thrive. As we wrap up the month of October, we hope you will join us as we continue to work towards creating spaces and communities that are more inclusive and neurodiversity-affirming.

We had so much fun at Pride this year and we are already looking forward to seeing everyone next year🌈

It’s also important to remember that Pride is something that we should support and celebrate all year long. We will continue to advocate for equality every single day and we hope that you join us in fighting for a brighter future 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Juneteenth serves as a reminder that the fight for freedom is ongoing. We invite you to take some time to reflect on the daily commitments we can make to continue the fight towards justice and equality.

Here are some of the practical ways to show up and commit to being a strong ally and advocate:

1.) Educate Yourself and Others: Take some time to learn about what Juneteenth commemorates and share what you learn with family and friends. Watch documentaries and read books that amplify the voices of Black creators and educators.

2.) Support Black-Owned Businesses: Make a conscious effort to buy from Black-owned businesses and use this as a way to build economic allyship that can continue throughout the year.

3.) Make a Commitment to Act Beyond Juneteenth: Reflect on ways that systemic racism might show up in your daily life or within your community. Challenge yourself to have difficult conversations with others about race and privilege. Work towards positive change through advocacy, voting, and organizing.
