Real support isn’t one-sided.

At Freedom House, people don’t just receive support. They give it too.

In our group therapy and peer spaces, you show up for others, and they, in turn, show up for you. Helping someone else can bring a sense of purpose, shifting the focus away from your own burdens and reminding you that you still have valuable contributions to make.

Recovery isn’t something you do alone. It's a path we walk it together.

You don’t have to explain everything.

We know that sometimes the hardest part of your journey is finding the right words. At Freedom House, you don’t have to explain it all.

With the support of our group therapy, individual therapy, and experienced peer support specialists, you’ll be surrounded by individuals who truly understand the essence of your experiences—the struggles, setbacks, and questions you face. You’re not starting from scratch; you’re stepping into a community that gets it.

Through our outpatient care, you'll engage in genuine conversations with people who meet you exactly where you are. Because often, it’s in the space of being understood—without the pressure to explain everything—that true change begins.

Let’s navigate this journey together, one conversation at a time.

Our team takes the time to understand you, your story, and your individual journey. With our wrap-around support, we collaborate with you to help you move forward at your own pace.

A couple weeks ago, Wheels4Hope and Freedom House partnered together with a generous donation from Anna Stein, First Lady of North Carolina, to honor two clients' journeys to recovery.

Through this partnership, two Freedom House clients received vehicles during a special Car Blessing Ceremony, with the North Carolina First Lady in attendance. This was a meaningful milestone that reflected renewed independence, stability, and newfound opportunities through reliable transportation.

This is what it looks like when a community invests in people who are committed to rebuilding their lives.

Because when people are supported, real change happens.

A special thank you to Brandi Collins, Peer Support and case manager for both clients, and Anthony Ross, FHRC Peer Support Specialist. You are both an integral part of our work every day!

Good health is more than physical healing.

This World Health Day, we’re recognizing that mental health, substance use recovery, and emotional well-being are all part of the same picture.

At Freedom House, health care means caring for the whole person through peer support, outpatient services, residential services, and crisis care when it’s needed most.

Because living healthy isn’t one thing, its everything. And all are worthy of a full, healthy life in recovery.
