Fraxel Dual is one of our go to resurfacing lasers for improving sun damage, uneven tone, and collagen stimulation. This beautiful result from our PA team shows how much can be achieved with a single treatment!

I generally recommend one resurfacing laser each year, supported by less aggressive in-office treatments and topicals to maintain progress and prevent sliding back to baseline. Now is an ideal time for Fraxel, as limiting sun exposure during healing is much easier in the cooler months.

A beautiful result for our lovely patient using a combination of CO2 and Fraxel Dual lasers.

CO2 remains the gold standard for skin resurfacing, but with great results comes downtime. To achieve a more even, natural-looking result with a smoother recovery, .ishii treated the area around the mouth with CO2 (her main concern) and used Fraxel Dual over the rest of the face to blend and balance the results.

In a world where “filler fear” is common, it’s important to remember the issue isn’t the filler itself, but how it’s used. When injectables are administered with skill, restraint, and an eye for harmony, the result isn’t an overdone look… it’s you, just a little more refreshed.

The FDA recently issued a safety communication about radiofrequency (RF) microneedling devices, citing risks like burns, scarring, and unwanted fat loss. But here’s what’s key:

The FDA isn’t saying the technology itself is unsafe or ineffective. It’s warning about the risks when these devices are used by individuals without proper training.

RF treatments can produce beautiful results, but only in the right hands. Anatomical knowledge, choosing the correct needle depth, and selecting appropriate energy settings are all crucial to a safe and effective treatment. More intensity doesn’t always mean better results. Sometimes, it just means more risk.

The bottom line: Any energy-based treatment (not just RF) carries some risk. The difference lies in the expertise of the provider.

Ask questions before you book:
Who is performing the treatment?
Are they medically trained and experienced?
Is there a qualified medical director on-site?
What are the safety protocols?

Energy-based devices can deliver great results, but outcomes depend largely on who is operating them. Do your research. Choose your provider wisely. If you are considering these treatments and have questions, give my office a call. We’re here to help.

One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is helping people feel more confident in their skin. This patient had a scar on her neck that she found bothersome. After just three sessions with the Fraxel Dual laser, we were able to achieve a beautiful softening.

Scars don’t always disappear completely, but with the right approach, they can blend more naturally into the surrounding skin.
