UNC researchers find individuals living with a critical or chronic illness who consumed medically tailored meals had a 16% drop in medical expenses. Patients on the program also had a reduction in hospital admissions and nursing home admissions.

Amazing accomplishments, and on a disorder that needs greater attention!

Helen Burton Murray was a Rome Visiting Scholar at Drossman Gastroenterology PLLC. She recently published an article in The American Journal of Gastroenterology called Diagnosis and Treatment of Rumination Syndrome: A Critical Review. This is notable for a couple of reasons:

-Helen has not yet earned her Ph.D. and it is rare to get an article like this published at this early stage of her career – quite an accomplishment!

-Rumination Syndrome is frequently misdiagnosed or missed completely

You can read the entire article here:

Congrats Helen!
