Cancer can be incredibly isolating- that’s what week is here for.

For AYAs facing cancer, finding people who truly understand can make all the difference. When AYA voices are heard and experiences are shared, it helps break the silence, reduce isolation and build a stronger community.

We can amplify our voices through support, resources, and connection. Let’s make sure no AYA feels alone in their experience.

As comes to an end, let’s keep showing up for the AYA cancer community. Together, we can make sure every AYA feels seen, heard, and understood.

For many young adults, cancer doesn’t just affect health. It changes self-perception.

If you have struggled with this in your cancer journey, you are not alone! 1 in 3 AYA cancer patients report experiencing body image concerns as a result of cancer treatment. Have you experienced body image challenges during or after treatment?

Drop a below to show the community no single AYA is alone!

Young adults with cancer often have to fight to be heard.

Many AYAs report not receiving resources designed specifically for them. Unfortunately, the need for self-advocacy an essential part of the AYA cancer experience, but it is not easy. From looking for answers to asking the hard questions, AYAs have to advocate from themselves to receive the treatment and support they deserve.

Finding your voice comes with unique challenges, and no one should face this alone. During Week, we’re shining a light on the importance of empowering AYA voices, and ensuring young adults receive proper care, resources and recognition.

Cancer is more than just a diagnosis - it reshapes your body, your plans, and your sense of self.

For AYAs, the impact goes far beyond treatment, especially when it comes to s*xual health and intimacy. Too many young survivors are left to navigate the physical and psychosocial effects on their s*x lives and intimate relationships on their own.

It’s not just about beating cancer; it’s about living with it and through it, in ways that honor the needs and desires of AYAs.

During Week, we’re speaking up about the real challenges AYAs face. These conversations matter, because no one should have to carry this alone.

It’s Week!

A special time to shine a light on the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer community and the unique challenges they face.

Each year, more than 85,000 young people ages 15-39 are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. Behind every number is a friend, partner, student, parent, all learning to navigate treatment, survivorship, careers, and relationships during these pivotal years.

Join UNC AYA, Stupid Cancer, and other amazing organizations in ending isolation and making cancer suck less for AYAs everywhere. Join us this week in raising awareness, sharing resources, and amplifying the voices of AYA community members.
