We had such a wonderful Easter celebration at Mapleview Country Villa! 🐰🌸 Our bunny was dressed for the occasion in a custom vest made by Sandra Longo, which brought so many smiles to the residents. Everyone enjoyed the creativity of a talented balloon artist, turning the day into something truly magical. The kids had an absolute blast during the Easter egg hunt, filling the room with laughter and excitement. It was a day full of joy, connection, and sweet memories for all ages! 💛

We had a memorable St. Patrick's Day celebration, where residents enjoyed a special bingo game and live entertainment by Dan Karl. We also had leprechaun punch and cupcakes, giving everyone a sweet way to celebrate.

In the baking club, the residents came together to make buckeyes, turning a simple recipe into a meaningful experience. Compared to more complicated desserts, buckeyes are easy to follow and quick to finish, which keeps everyone engaged and motivated. We saw conversations spark, memories surface, and smiles grow as hands roll the dough and the trays were filled. By the end of the session, we are not just sharing a sweet treat, we are creating connection, building skills, and giving the residents something they can be proud of.

We would like to thank the Hewitt family for their generous donation of therapy sleeping dogs and cats. This gift is given in loving memory of their brother, father, and partner, who was a resident of the Mapleview Magnolia Unit, where we provide dementia and memory care services. Scott brought comfort to himself and others through his love of animals, including his own cat, Bubba. His family brought him a sleeping cat that looked identical to Bubba during his stay here. We have had the privilege to continue caring for therapy cat "Bubba." We are also honored to introduce two new companions, Scotty and Maggie, named in remembrance of Scott Hewitt and his mother, Maggie.

Last week, our halls were filled with laughter, music, and the spirit of giving as we celebrated Christmas with our wonderful residents. From festive decorations to heartfelt carols and delicious treats, it was a week to remember! A big thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who made this celebration so special.
