Since opening our doors in 1961, LCHC has been proud to serve the families of Lucas County and beyond. To celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join us for our 65th Anniversary Open House later this month.

65 years ago, Lucas County was preparing to open Lucas County Memorial Hospital, marking a new chapter in healthcare for our community.

The original hospital may have been smaller than today’s facility, but it served an important role with 11 semi-private rooms, three private rooms, two three-bed rooms, and a four-bed maternity ward—supported by just 36 full-time employees.

A lot has changed over the years, but our commitment to caring for this community remains the same.

We are grateful to the South Central Iowa Community Foundation for awarding Lucas County Health Center a generous grant to purchase new waiting room furniture for our Specialty Clinic.

Members of our team were honored to attend the Foundation’s grant awards ceremony last night at Pin Oak Lodge, where we joined other community partners in celebrating the impact these grants have across our region.

This investment helps us create a more comfortable, welcoming environment for our patients and visitors while they receive care close to home. We truly appreciate the Foundation’s continued support of local healthcare and our community. 💙
