The healthcare discipline of physical therapy receives its limelight in the month of October!

FCMC is able to offer a wide range of physical therapy services through its partnership with SMS Physical Therapy.

As a locally owned and operated physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary department located inside the hospital, FCMC and SMS not only share a common space, but also many patients every day.

In honor of “PT Month”, we asked each team member from SMS what they enjoy most about physical therapy!

We had a great time at the 30th annual SpookWalk yesterday, and winning the Best Use of Theme category made the evening even better (despite the gnarly wind)! 🎃 🍁

For this year's "Time Machine" theme, two of our team members - the mad scientists - decided to create a literal time machine that transported us back to 1965.

1965 is the year that Floyd County Memorial Hospital debuted in Charles City! Three of our team members, dressed in vintage medical garb, handed out popcorn and applesauce pouches to kiddos and parents alike.

As participants exited our booth, our final team members - the construction workers - wanted to preview our time machine's next stop: 2026, when our new three-story clinic will have its debut 🤩

Two special shoutouts are in order: Thank you to one of our mad scientists, Christian Kreger, for coming up with our booth's idea, as well as EVS Manager Mike Kreger for helping us assemble our booth ✨

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🩷

The American Cancer Society recommends that women between the ages of 45 and 54 should get regular screening mammograms for the early detection of breast cancer every year.

FCMC offers 3-D digital mammography with our skilled radiologic technologists.

To schedule a mammogram with us, work with your primary care provider to set up a referral!
