The Service Technician must be knowledgeable of all equipment and supplies provided by Appalachian Medical. They are responsible for the delivery, set up and pick up of home medical equipment provided by Appalachian Medical and uphold a standard for excellence. Responsible for competent, efficient, and friendly delivery service to customers in their home. The Delivery Technician is the face of Appalachian Medical to the patient population and is responsible for upholding high standards of caring, compassionate, and superior customer service.
General
Responsible To
Service Technicians are directly responsible to the Member (s) / Manager (s). They are also responsible to other managers and individuals above them as defined on the
Appalachian Medical llc organizational chart.
Educational Qualifications/Experience
Should have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Able to function as a polite and cooperative team member with a positive attitude
Good oral and written communication skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to handle multiple tasks with numerous interruptions.
Able to maintain patient confidentiality.
Clean driving record.
Good physical condition.
People sensitive characteristics with a desire to help others.
Physical Qualifications
In an average 8 hour day the employee lifts/carries up to 65 pounds frequently.
In an average 8 hour day the employee stands/walks 4 hours.
In an average 8 hour day the employee sits 1 hour.
In an average 8 hour day the employee drives 3 hours.
The employee lifts/carries up to 170 pounds maximum.
The employee must be neat/clean in accordance with the employee handbook
On Call
Periodically available for non-office hours.
Willing to be trained in pertinent area of equipment/supplies.
Available for on-call hours as assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver and set-up equipment/supplies efficiently and provide instructions to patient.
Be familiar with and adhere to all regulatory and safety procedures that apply to the
delivery of medical equipment
Arrange for efficient and cost effective deliveries.
Pick up equipment in timely manner.
5. Assist with cleaning and repair of all equipment while in store and time permits. Maintain records for all rental equipment.
6. Responsible for being on-call as per company policy.
7. Responsible for attendance at in-store meetings.
8. Assist with inventory control.
9. Help maintain branch building and grounds by cleaning, painting, performing minor repairs and other tasks as required and time permits.
10. Responsible for seeking tasks and informing Manager of idle time between deliveries.
11. Responsible for observing confidentiality at all times.
12. Responsible for the safe operation and routine care of company vehicles.
13. Performs other duties as deemed appropriate by management.

Maintains proper segregation of clean and dirty equipment on delivery vehicles and in warehouse.
Completes route sheet, vehicle inspection log and other required documentation accurately.
Completes delivery documentation as required or requested by customer service.
Assist in maintaining inventory and presenting a well organized warehouse area.
Available for overtime as needed.
