Haley gained her angel wings after a long fight against a rare form of Ewing's Sarcoma, a childhood cancer.

Write a caption... Today, November 22nd, is international Ewing’s Sarcoma Awareness Day.
The significance behind the date 11/22 represents the most common mutation that causes Ewing’s Sarcoma involving two genes, the EWSR1 gene on chromosome 11. A rearrangement of genetic material between Chromosomes 22 and 11, written as t(22;11).
Today and everyday we honor Ewing’s Sarcoma fighters, survivors, angels and families.
Today, let’s come together to raise awareness and fight until we find a cure to this childhood cancer. Missing you every single day, Haley!

In loving memory
December 31, 1998 - October 18th, 2023

Haley shines as brightly and colorfully in Heaven as she did in her life on Earth.
In the midst of her battle, she always sparkled.
Here, she put on her wig, grabbed Piper and even with her frail body, managed to shine with a smile like no other 💛 Today, there are people who need a hug, a smile or kindness. Please honor Haley today with your own act of kindness…for we do not know what burdens they carry beneath the surface.

Our dear neighbors planted a rose bush after Haley passed and named it Haley Rose.
My friend rooted a piece of it for our own garden. After waiting 2 whole years, one beautiful, single rose bloomed today.
She sparkles still and her beauty surrounds us always.

Swirls truly made it Around the World for this one!!!! 🌀🌍

Thank you to Haley’s wonderful aunt Lisa for bringing Swirls along with Haley all the way to Africa! 🇿🇦What an amazing way to kick off 2023!

Haley & Swirls began their adventures in African by visiting a Giraffe Sanctuary and Orphanage 🦒 🇰🇪

Thank you so much again Aunt Lisa! We hope you are having an incredible time and we can’t wait to follow your journey through Africa with our angels!! 💛

Oh the places Haley & Swirls will go! 🎗️🦋 We love you all!

We are so excited to see where in the world 2023 will take Swirls!! 🌀 Thank you to our incredible Swirls family and friends for helping us continue Matthew’s travels and legacy. ❤️

When she was in Montessori, we celebrated her birthdays by a trip around the "Sun"…..little legs ceremoniously carried her around a large cardboard Sun...classmates cheered her on her way around.
There are no more Earthly trips around the Sun to celebrate with our precious Haley, but today, we will celebrate her birthday travels in a place much larger than our Earth….a place where she can fly among billions of suns. 22 years of loving her here was not enough...but her years were measured in love, laughter, adventures, courage, and sheer bravery. Today, our beautifully brave Haley, we will sing Happy Birthday to you from down here while you smile down on us from up There. We will love you forever and continue your fight for the rest of our own trips around the Sun. We love you forever.

Goal Achieved- What a beautiful way to honor our Haley, Jordan and Anna. Our Angel’s birthday (Jordan’s also) is on New Year’s Eve. Haley is proud to know that her favorite organization will be receiving these heartfelt donations!

Big Announcement 💛

Thanks to the generous donations of Friends, Family, Alumni and even kind strangers inspired by Haley’s courage, we are so blessed to announce that the Haley Hughes Memorial Scholarship has raised the $25,000.00 goal in 11 months! This ensures that the scholarship is now an Endowment and will be funded as long as PC exists!! So many students will be able to experience the wonders of international travel and Art who would not otherwise be able to afford it. Haley Clare loved Presbyterian College and truly lived the motto “WHILE WE LIVE WE SERVE”. We believe that as an angel, Haley is still living by her alma mater’s motto, for her legacy of giving lives on.

With the year angel-versary of our sweet Haley Clare coming up, our hearts have been heavy with grief. Today we were able to plant this bottle brush tree in memory of her at the place that has truly became our “Healing Home” over the past year without her. We are so thankful to be able to come together and do something special to honor her memory on the island that she grew up on and loved so much. There will always be a part of her here. Her bright spirit will always shine bright in Edisto and with all of us.💛
