Renewal starts with surrender.

That's what Good Friday keeps teaching me. (I'm a slow learner. 😄)

I used to think transformation was about trying harder. Doing more. Getting it right. But the older I get, the more I see it — the real breakthroughs in my life came when I finally let go and trusted God with it.

Health. Habits. Fear. Control. All of it.

You can't get to resurrection without the cross. There's just no shortcut around it.
So today I'm sitting right here, grateful for what Jesus did, and reminded that I don't have to carry any of it alone.

Up until about a year ago, I was rocking it in my health.

Even at 64.

And then—like it does for a lot of us—things started slipping a bit.

Stopped lifting like I used to
Loosened up on food
More treats than I realized

Nothing drastic… just enough.

And it caught up with me.

A few pounds up
Less energy
Frustrated

So I’m back to what I know works.

Moving every day

Most women don’t say, “I’m stressed.”

They say:

“I’m exhausted.”
“My sleep is off.”
“My gut is a mess.”
“I feel wired but tired.”
“I don’t feel like myself.”

That’s stress.

Not just emotional stress — body-level stress.

Chronic stress raises cortisol.
Disrupts blood sugar.
Slows digestion.
Worsens hormone swings.
Makes weight loss harder.

And when you’re told “everything looks normal,” it simply means you’re not in disease.

It doesn’t mean your body is functioning the way it was designed to.

God did not design you to live in constant fight-or-flight.

He designed your body for rhythm.
For rest.
For restoration.

Do you hit a wall every afternoon, even if you slept and ate “pretty well”?

For many women, low energy isn’t about age or motivation.
It’s a signal that something deeper is off.

Common root causes include:
🔹 Blood sugar instability
🔹 Poor digestion and nutrient absorption
🔹 Chronic stress draining the system
🔹 Sleep that isn’t truly restorative

Adding more caffeine or “pushing through” may help short-term, but it doesn’t solve the problem.

This is what I hear every week:

“I’m exhausted.”
“I can’t focus.”
“My short-term memory is gone.”
“I have brain fog all day.”

And yes — some of this is hormones.
Some of it is blood sugar swings.
Some of it is aging.

But a big piece that gets missed?
Your metabolism isn’t getting the support it used to.

Not in a dramatic way.
In quiet, everyday ways.

Skipping protein.
Living on coffee and adrenaline.
