“For body, mind and spirit” is more than a slogan at HospiceCare. The words represent three equal pillars of our holistic approach to care for our patients and their families.

As part of National Spiritual and Pastoral Care Week, Oct. 25-31, HospiceCare would like to thank all of our chaplains and counselors in our Wallace Grief Support & Education Center who address not only the emotional issues related to end-of-life care, but also provide invaluable spiritual support, comfort and peace.

Thank you to Mike Dupay, our Wallace Center’s Director of Spiritual and Bereavement Care Services, and his staff of hospice chaplains and counselors: Marla Coleman, Anna Stewart, Thea Johnson, George Cantees, Gary Coffey, Pernell McCoy, Pete Thompson and Letari Thompson. Your devotion to the spiritual well-being of our communities is a blessing.

For help, call The Wallace Center at (304) 768-8523.

While enjoying your favorite mug of joe, latte, espresso or cappuccino, consider tuning in to our latest episode of “Caregiver Coffee Break,” a local monthly cable show that addresses current issues affecting the health and well-being of caregivers and their loved ones throughout West Virginia. Join host Carol Matheny, RN, MSN, as she sits down with WV Geriatric Society President Teresa Sexton to discuss the impact of COVID-19 and the upcoming flu season on our state’s senior population, their caregivers and health care providers.
