😎 Charleston: β€œThursday Energy Check” 😎

Happy Thursday, Charleston. If your brain is somewhere between β€œI am thriving” and β€œI need a nap,” congratulations, you are living the recovery dream. Some weeks you crush goals, other weeks you are just emotionally stable and hydrated, and that still counts as progress.

If today feels slow, take it. If today feels peaceful, enjoy it. Recovery does not always have fireworks. Sometimes it is just quiet wins, good choices, and not letting chaos control you anymore. That is growth.

Charleston is open 8 to 4 today. Come see us if you need support, motivation, or someone who understands that being calm is a personality trait now.

😌 Wonderful Wednesday 😌

It is Wednesday, which means you have officially survived enough of the week to be considered resilient. If you are in recovery and still showing up, still choosing growth, and still not flipping tables, that is progress.

Wonderful Wednesday is not about perfection. It is about doing the best you can with the brain you have today. Charleston is open at normal hours, so come see us if you need support, encouragement, or someone to remind you that you are doing better than you think.

πŸŽ‰ 6 YEARS SOBER AND STILL WINNING πŸŽ‰

Let’s talk about Larry McCommack, counselor at Mountain State Recovery Center, who is celebrating 6 years of sobriety and proving that recovery has aged like fine wine (but we definitely do not live like that anymore). 🀣🀣🀣πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Six years ago, Larry chose to stop making life harder than it needed to be. Since then, he has stacked up six years of growth, healing, and showing up for others without the chaos. Now he helps people walk through the same doors he once needed himself, proving daily that sobriety does not make you boring, it makes you a force of nature.

We are proud to celebrate this milestone with someone who brings wisdom, humor, and heart to our team and our clients every single day. Congratulations, Larry, on 6 years sober!

❄️ Snowy Monday Reminder ❄️

The snow showed up, the week restarted, and recovery still matters today. Whether you made it out the door, hit snooze five times, or are just staring at the snow wondering how life got here, give yourself some credit. Showing up counts, even on cold and quiet days like this.

At Mountain State Recovery Center, we know progress does not pause for weather or Mondays. Snow slows things down, but it can also be a reset. A fresh start. A reminder that you can move carefully, one step at a time, and still get where you are going.

If you need support today, we are here. Stay safe, stay warm, and keep going.

🀣 Charleston, you made it to Friday without losing your mind. That is talent. 🀣

If this week tried to knock you down, guess what. You are still standing. You deserve a gold medal and maybe a nap.

Charleston is open 8 to 4 today. Come see us and finish the week strong.

πŸŽ‰ Charleston Thursday Post πŸŽ‰

🀣 Charleston, it is officially Thursday and you are still surviving adulthood 🀣

This week may have tried you, tested you, and maybe even side-eyed you, but look at you still showing up. Recovery people are built different. You handle things that would have regular folks calling out of life entirely.

If today feels heavy, remember this. You have already survived worse. You have already climbed higher. You are not here by accident.

Charleston is open 8 to 4 today if you need support, encouragement, or just a quick reminder that you are doing way better than your brain gives you credit for.

Charleston is open 8 to 4 today. Come see us.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Christian Dingess, PRSS 🌟

We are proud to spotlight Christian Dingess, PRSS, who joined the Mountain State Recovery Center team in October 2024 and brings more than four years of peer support experience to our program. Christian has worked in both inpatient treatment and outpatient MAT settings, and he continues to use his journey, compassion, and dedication to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.

Christian has been sober since November 22, 2013, after years of struggling with oxycontin, opana, and co***ne. He credits a period of incarceration as the moment that forced him to face the reality of his addiction. After getting out, he relapsed when his parole ended and began using Roxy’s, but eventually found the strength to get clean again. From there, his life took a powerful turn.

Christian began working as a professional musician and performed with several artists, including studio session work. In 2017, he accepted a job with Logan Mingo Mental Health, which opened the door to the behavioral health field. When COVID hit in 2020, he continued his work at Anchor Point as a Behavioral Health Technician, and that experience ignited a passion for helping others in recovery. He then pursued his path as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, knowing he had found his calling.

His favorite part of being a PRSS is working with patients one on one and being part of their transformation, progress, and healing. Christian’s experience, empathy, and dedication make him an incredible asset to the MSRC team, and we are grateful to have him.
