As always, we love attending APTA CSM! Reminiscing on our visit to Anaheim, California a few weeks ago with our faculty and students to join for the annual conference! What an amazing trip full of continuing education, inspiration, networking, and connecting with others in the profession! And of course, we enjoyed celebrating one of our very own, Dr. Kerri Borton, who was recognized for receiving her Cardiopulmonary Specialist Certification this past year! 🩵

This month our first year students had the opportunity to step out into the community and put compassion into action. Volunteering reminds us that being a future physical therapist isn’t just about exercises and treatment plans — it’s about advocacy, service, and showing up for the people around us.

Grateful for the chance to learn, give back, and grow together. 💙

✨ Community in Action ✨

We are so grateful for Professor Angela Stagliano and her students from Charleston Southern University for their incredible partnership with Meals on Wheels of Summerville!

Through this collaboration, Professor Stagliano has supported our mission in two meaningful ways—by providing substitute drivers to help deliver meals to our neighbors and by allowing students to shadow members of our Client Screening Committee as we welcome new clients into our program.

Each semester, 24 students adopt 12 delivery routes, serving alongside us on approximately three delivery days. Their willingness to serve not only helps ensure our neighbors receive nutritious meals, but also gives students a powerful, hands-on learning experience rooted in compassion and community impact.

We are incredibly thankful for this partnership and hopeful it will continue to grow. 💙
