All things gut-
In my opinion, from the research I’ve done, gut health and healing should be #1 on the list for detox. The body’s biggest ways of detoxifying are through the liver and GI tract, so if those are working efficiently the body will naturally rid toxins faster. Contrary to popular belief, I fully believe the body was made to heal.
You often hear, especially in regards to children, that “functional constipation” is normal.. but if that were true it would be a normal childhood milestone, but it’s not. When you truly realize how the body works you understand how important regular bowel movements are. Gut health is directly linked to neurological health, so it’s crazy to me that it’s called normal for a child to only use the bathroom 1 time a week.
Some of the biggest changes we’ve made that have positively impacted gut health are diet change, cutting out inflammatory foods and sticking to a whole food paleo diet. We’ve also added in herbal tinctures to help nourish and heal the gut and liver. We currently use candida cleanse, and vacc!ne detox from Earthley. Both have done wonders for helping Levi use the bathroom regularly. We also are about to start a parasite protocol since finding egg sacks in his stool. Some supplements I really like for gut health are probiotics (after testing to rule out SIBO etc) digestive enzymes, milk thistle, and magnesium!
