AMH (anti-müllerian hormone) is a blood test that measures the level of this hormone and indicates the remaining quantity of eggs (ovarian reserve). Higher AMH levels generally correspond to a larger number of eggs, while lower levels suggest a smaller egg supply.

At WVFI, we want to make the language of reproductive medicine more accessible. Today, we're explaining "primary ovarian insufficiency" or POI. Also known as premature ovarian failure, POI is a condition where a woman's ovaries stop working before she is 40.
