The April meeting of the Lowcountry Senior Network was a great opportunity to network and learn more about new and existing businesses that can support seniors and allow them to age gracefully! Great turnout with 112 attendees today! Thank you to POA Prosthetic and Orthotic Associates of South Carolina for the great work that they do and for sponsoring this month’s meeting. It is a privilege to engage with senior industry professionals and gain insight into how we can better serve those in need.

We’re incredibly proud to recognize the awesome team at Shem Creek at South Bay for their inspiring contributions to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s 💜

With heart, hustle, and a whole lot of love, they held their annual car wash led by their amazing team—serving their residents, families, and local senior care partners.🚙🧽💦

Not only did this effort raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s research and support, it brought smiles and connection to everyone involved.

This is what community looks like. This is what hope looks like.

👏 Let’s give a huge round of applause to Shem Creek at South Bay​, their incredible residents and staff, and all other local communities for holding Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising events to help show that every act can help to bring us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

We had a great day serving as a volunteer at the 2026 MUSC Senior Expo as a member of the Lowcountry Senior Network.

It was inspiring to see such a wide variety of trusted resources gathered in one place to support the large contingent of senior attendees. Being able to network with like minded professionals and community partners that are focused on healthy aging made the day even more fulfilling.

Oasis Senior Advisors Charleston, SC is thrilled to welcome Kate Daugherty as the newest addition to its growing team. Kate has been added as a Senior Living Advisor at Oasis, which offers free, local, and personalized support for seniors in navigating the complex realities of aging in the Charleston, SC tri-county area.

Daugherty joins the company with more than 15 years of experience in senior living leadership, including serving as an Executive Director in the Charleston area. She holds a master’s degree in Gerontology, is a certified dementia practitioner, and is known for her culture-first leadership approach, strong team engagement, and unwavering commitment to senior advocacy.
