The annual Easter Egg Hunt was an egg-streme success this year! I counted, and I’m pretty sure all 3,000 eggs disappeared in about 35 seconds flat 🐣🐰

A big shoutout to our Hodges Lifestyles ladies for always putting together such a fun event and giving everyone a chance to come together, make memories, and get the whole family in on the fun!

Goodbyes are never easy, especially after 23 years. Housekeeping Supervisor Teresa Smith has been such a special part of Edgewood Summit and The Hodges Center from day one, and it’s hard to imagine this place without her. We’re so thankful for her dedication, kindness, and all the care she’s given over the years. Wishing her the sweetest retirement!

Teresa also gave us permission to share her speech as a glimpse into what makes a place like Edgewood Summit so special. For anyone who may be wondering what life in a community like this is really like, it’s so much more than a place to live or work. It becomes family. The memories made here, the friendships built, and the time shared between staff and residents is truly unmatched.

Through this exciting new collaboration, Edgewood Summit residents will enjoy a non voting membership at Edgewood Country Club, giving them access to some of the club’s most loved amenities without the fees or traditional country club commitments.

That means residents can now enjoy:

🎾 Racquets facilities
⛳ The golf course
👏 The clubhouse

We were so happy to welcome Julie with Edgewood Country Club this afternoon for a meet and greet and to share more about all the exciting opportunities now available to our residents.

This is just one more way life at Edgewood Summit keeps getting even better.

Tony Gibson, Head Coach of Marshall University Football, stopped by for coffee and good conversation with staff and residents. While the WVU and Marshall rivalry is alive and well around here, we are proud to cheer on both teams. Thanks, Tony, for the visit! 💚🏈

We’re excited to continue enhancing the spaces our residents enjoy every day at Edgewood Summit. Our newly refreshed dining room is now a more versatile gathering space, designed to host a variety of events, presentations, and social groups.

Last week, Lisa with The Appalachian Spring Project shared a blooming presentation with a private ladies club in this updated space. With the addition of modern technology, we’re able to welcome more engaging experiences right here in our community!

Edgewood Summit is proud to serve as a host site for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WVU (OLLI). Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming both our residents and OLLI members from the community for a wonderful open house and an engaging class, Dixie A Song, A Symbol, A Struggle.

At Edgewood Summit, lifelong learning is just one of the many perks our residents enjoy. All classes are completely free for those who live here. It is a meaningful way to stay curious, connected, and inspired.

OLLI at WVU offers a vibrant community where you can explore new ideas, build friendships, and continue growing both inside and outside the classroom. Whether you are a resident or part of the community, we invite you to join us for upcoming classes and experience the joy of lifelong learning right here at Edgewood Summit.

Our residents were to happy to support the opening of the art gallery by the mound. They can even be seen in the background of the news clip! How cool!

Law, ministry and public education– those are the careers Monty Brown and Nan Perry did for most of their lives. Now, the tandem is branching out.
