Edgewood Summit is a locally owned, not-for-profit senior living community offering Independent Living, Residential Care, Memory Care, and private Skilled Nursing in Charleston, WV. Edgewood Summit, Inc., is a West Virginia non-profit corporation organized in 1990 for the sole purpose of developing, owning and operating the Edgewood Summit senior living community in Charleston, West Virginia. Edgewood Summit is governed by a volunteer board of directors, and day-to-day management services are provided by Greystone Communities. The Edgewood Summit community was constructed on a 37-acre tract of land adjacent to Cato Park, located within Charleston city limits. Phase I opened in the spring of 1995 offering 90 independent living apartments and 40 assisted living apartments. Phase II opened in January 2001 adding an additional 37 independent living apartments. Phase III offers two new levels of care, completing the Edgewood Summit continuum and making Edgewood Summit a true Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Named after the benefactor of the Phase III project, the Arthur B. Hodges Center at Edgewood Summit offers memory support and skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
