Program Director/Instructor – Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program

New River Community and Technical College (NRCTC) is seeking a qualified and mission-driven Program Director/Instructor to lead its CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program. This role offers an opportunity to combine academic leadership, teaching, and clinical engagement while making a meaningful impact on students and the healthcare workforce in southern West Virginia.
The Program Director provides leadership, administration, instruction, and accreditation oversight for the PTA Program. Reporting to the Dean of Allied Health, Nursing and Natural Sciences, this full-time, exempt position ensures program quality, compliance with CAPTE Standards, and student success through collaborative faculty and community partnerships.
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unencumbered PT or PTA license/certification (eligible for WV practice)
• Master’s degree required (Doctorate preferred)
• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited PT program or closely related field
• Minimum 5 years post-licensure experience, including 3 years of clinical practice
• Teaching experience (classroom, lab, or clinical)
• Leadership or administrative experience (academic or clinical)
• Professional development in:
o Educational theory and methodology
o Instructional design
o Student evaluation
o Outcomes assessment
