So proud of this little dude. He’s always so positive, energetic, and has fun in everything he does. (Also can we talk about that POSE running form?! 🤯) He was in a different heat than his friends, and instead of asking me to switch him, he said he wanted to stay so he could cheer for them when he was done. Such a big ❤️. Keep it up, kiddo. Big things await.

Still kind of in a lull around here, so just walking around with the chicken, seeing the new raised bed, inspecting frost damage on trees, and FINALLY collecting eggs! (5 today, pulled 7 on Wednesday, so we’re getting there!)

Fun story - the 3rd and final deer my husband shot this season is still at the processor, because they “lost it.” He went back to pick it up and they hadn’t written down what shelf it was on, and still don’t know where it is. She said when she finds it, she will bring it to us, but I’m not holding my breath. 😅

Meanwhile, ground venison is still on regular rotation in my kitchen. If you don’t have ground venison, you can just sub in a lean ground beef instead!

This has been a favorite recipe in our house for years. It’s easy to make, flavorful, healthy, and freezes well. Recipe is on the blog now! Enjoy!

Cabbage roll soup has been a staple in our household for years - and the one recipe that Slater can make mostly by himself (sans that time he missed the pot with the can of tomato sauce. Wait for it, it's worth the watch!)

We've reimagined it with venison instead of ground beef and added some additional flavors and spices to really make it shine.

We love to serve it with a slice of crusty homemade sourdough bread to make it extra cozy in the cold winter months!
