Joint Effort Movement Center

Joint Effort Movement Center Physical Therapy Done Differently. Welcome to Joint Effort Movement Center, where we do physical therapy differently!

We are proud to offer specialized physical therapies that are rare to find anywhere else in Charleston: Postural Restoration and Functional Manual Therapy. It’s truly a joint effort between our practitioners and clients to collaborate on the best treatments that lead to success. Our clients often say that we’re REALLY good listeners. Joint Effort accepts Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare, and Aetna insurance for our PT services.

Still dealing with pain that keeps coming back, even after PT?

If you’ve done the exercises, rested, stretched, and followed the plan…but still feel stuck, it’s frustrating. And it’s more common than you think!

Pain isn’t just about one body part. It’s about how your whole system is moving, adapting, and compensating over time. 🤓

At Joint Effort, we take a deeper look at how your body is functioning so we can build a plan that supports real, lasting change, not just temporary relief.

You’re not broken. You just need an approach that sees the full picture.

We’re Hiring at Joint Effort! ✨

We’re launching a new wellness program and we’re looking for a Personal Trainer / PT Tech to join our team!

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about movement and interested in working closely with physical therapists in a collaborative, client-centered environment. You’ll support clients 1:1 and in small groups, assist with wellness programming, and help bring this new side of our practice to life.

This might be a great fit if you’re looking for:
• Guaranteed hours (W-2, not 1099) with room to grow
• A mix of personal training, wellness, marketing, and clinic support
• Hands-on learning from licensed physical therapists
• The chance to help build a program from the ground up

What we offer:
✔ Paid CEUs and mentorship from our PT team
✔ Opportunity to earn PT observation hours
✔ Growth-based pay structure
✔ A supportive, forward-thinking clinic environment

If you’re motivated, movement-minded, and excited about growing with a practice that values collaboration and whole-person care, we’d love to hear from you.

Can your vision really affect your range of motion?

Meet Brad. With both eyes open and with just his right eye open, Brad can’t laterally flex his neck very well.

But when he closes his right eye and only has his left vision, he now has improved neck range of motion. WHAT?!

When we have over sensory dominance (not to be confused with simple eye dominance), it will affect where our brain perceives our “center” to be.

In the case of Brad- he is left eye dominant, but he is SENSORY dominant in his right eye and he is really, really dominant. So much that when both eyes are open, instead of both eyes putting input in to where center is, his right eye continues to do most of the work and keeps his center of gravity towards the right side.

For cases like this, we refer to Dr. Elyse DeWitt at Draisin Vision because she understands how vision affects how we perceive the world (and more importantly, how to correct it!)

New Year, New Deductible ✨

As we ring in 2026, a quick reminder that many insurance plans reset deductibles on January 1. That means your out-of-pocket costs may start fresh with the new year.

Not sure what that means for your care? We’re happy to help. Give us a call with any questions about your coverage and we’ll walk you through it. 💙
