Progressive Breath Ladder
This builds COβ tolerance, strengthens the diaphragm, and conditions your nervous system to stay calm under rising COβ levels.
Start here:
1οΈβ£ Inhale through the nose for 5 seconds
2οΈβ£ Hold for 6 seconds
3οΈβ£ Exhale through the mouth for 7 seconds
4οΈβ£ Hold at the bottom for a moment
5οΈβ£ Repeat 3β5 cycles
When this feels smooth and controlled, move to the next ladder:
Next level:
β’ Inhale 6 seconds
β’ Hold 7 seconds
β’ Exhale 8 seconds
β’ Hold briefly at the bottom
Repeat a few cycles.
Next:
β’ Inhale 7 seconds
β’ Hold 8 seconds
β’ Exhale 9 seconds
Continue moving up gently β
β¨ only as far as you can stay relaxed
β¨ no forcing, no strain
Stop at your max comfortable inhale, hold, and exhale capacity, and then slowly return to normal breathing.
This builds:
π COβ tolerance
π Emotional resilience
π Oxygen efficiency (Bohr effect)
π Calm under pressure
π Nervous system stability
