🧬 Did You Know? Not Everyone Can Properly Use Folic Acid
Some people (up to 40%) have a genetic variation (often linked to the MTHFR gene) that makes it harder to convert folic acid (the synthetic form found in many supplements and fortified foods) into active folate, the form your body actually uses.
⚠️ When conversion is low, it may affect:
• Energy levels & fatigue
• Brain health, focus & mood (depression and anxiety)
• Heart health (due to higher homocysteine levels)
• Hormone balance
• Pregnancy & fetal development
• Immune function
💡 Why it matters:
If folic acid isn’t converted efficiently, it can build up unused in the body while cells still lack the folate they need for DNA repair, detoxification, and red blood cell production.
✅ What can help:
• Choosing natural folate from leafy greens, beans, and citrus
• Using supplements with L-methylfolate instead of folic acid
• Supporting methylation with B12 (methyl form, not cyanocobalamin, B6 (P5P), and a nutrient-dense diet.
Did you know that several health conditions increased when the FDA started fortifying our food with synthetic vitamins that many people can not convert into what they need and build up in the body? Think about that the next time you go grocery shopping. Most energy drinks are full of them!
✨ Personalized nutrition matters—what works for one body may not work for another. That is why a bioenergetic scan is such a powerful tool. It lets you know which supplements work for your body, not against it!
My favorite multivitamin can be found here:
Daily Activated Multi-vitamin provides necessary vitamins and minerals in the superior methylated forms for absorption.
