This is one of the biggest misunderstandings we see with new patients at our office all the time.
People go to an allergist, get tested, and are told they don’t have allergy to mold. But here’s the thing — they’re being tested for mold toxicity.
👉 Mold allergy happens when your immune system reacts to mold spores in the air, causing congestion, watery eyes, and that familiar “sneezy-wheezy” feeling.
👉 Mold toxicity, on the other hand, is when your body absorbs mycotoxins — toxic compounds released by mold that can inflame your brain, disrupt hormones, and completely drain your energy.
As Dr. B often says, mold isn’t just an irritant, it’s an arsonist.
It quietly sets off inflammation throughout your body while your labs and allergy tests look perfectly “normal.”
If you’ve been told everything looks fine but still feel foggy, anxious, or exhausted, it’s time to look deeper.
