Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Center We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Wound Care Nurse to join our team in a small long-term care facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nurse who takes pride in delivering high-quality wound care while serving as a leader and resource for staff.
Position Overview:
The Wound Care Nurse will function as a member of the management team, providing leadership, education, and clinical expertise related to wound prevention, treatment, and management. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while supporting and guiding clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive wound assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Monitor and evaluate wound healing progress and adjust care as needed
• Educate and support nursing staff on wound prevention and treatment practices
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, standards of care, and regulatory guidelines
• Collaborate with providers, interdisciplinary team members, and leadership
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives related to skin integrity and wound care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Qualifications:
• Licensed nurse (RN) in good standing
• Knowledgeable and passionate about wound care and skin integrity
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a small facility setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Wound care experience required
• Wound care certification preferred (bonus)
• 2–3 years of wound care experience preferred, but negotiable for the right candidate
