A call came into Choices and the woman on the other end stated quietly and timidly, “I need to keep this confidential.” I responded everything here at Choices is confidential we don't share anything without your permission. The woman stated that she had just taken a home pregnancy test and it looked like she is pregnant. She was scared and wanted to schedule an appointment to make sure the test was accurate before telling anyone it was positive.

I had an opening that day and was able to get her in quickly. During her appointment we discussed her options, because she was torn since she was single and wanted this baby; however, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to meet all of the baby’s needs. She also wasn't sure what her support system would say and if they would still be supportive. She was looking at all of her options and next steps. I explained, ""we are here to walk alongside you in this journey, no matter the outcome.” She stated that she felt more confident about her decision since she had found Choices.
