Humbled. Honored. And looking forward to what’s next. 🙏🏽✨

I’ve officially been accepted into the 4th Cohort of the Megi High-Risk Doula Certification Program, in collaboration with King’s College London, the American Heart Association, Action on Pre-Eclampsia, and other leading institutions.

As a Traditional Midwife and Full-Spectrum Doula, this aligns perfectly with the work I’ve committed my life to; serving families with care that is not only compassionate and trauma-informed, but also medically informed and evidence-based.

This program is doing critical work in advancing women’s heart health and addressing the complexities of high-risk pregnancies, especially when it comes to conditions like preeclampsia.

Let’s be clear about why this matters:
Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality worldwide. It is often detected too late. And in the U.S., up to 85% of women qualify for low-dose aspirin protocols to reduce risk, yet many are never informed in time.

Even more, women who experience preeclampsia face 4x higher lifetime cardiovascular risk.

This is not small. This is not optional. This is where advocacy, education, and early detection save lives.

And here’s the truth many overlook,
Doulas, midwives, and birthworkers are often the closest point of contact for expecting families. We are the ones seeing the day-to-day shifts. The subtle changes. The early warning signs.
Which means…we have a responsibility to be equipped.

This certification is a comprehensive, six-week advanced training designed to strengthen exactly that. It focuses on:
✨ Recognizing early red flags like rising blood pressure and preterm labor signs
✨ Proper blood pressure monitoring and documentation
✨ Supporting clients through medical decision-making and hospital systems
✨ Trauma-informed care and culturally competent advocacy
✨ NICU, postpartum recovery, and high-risk support strategies
✨ Using tools, trackers, and evidence-based protocols to stay proactive
✨ Addressing systemic barriers while showing up with confidence and clarity

This is the kind of training that bridges the gap between holistic care and clinical awareness.

High-risk families deserve advocates who are prepared—not guessing, not reacting late, but informed, present, and proactive.

And as someone who consistently pushes for higher standards in doula and birthwork education, I will always stand on this:
We cannot ask for better outcomes if we are not willing to deepen our knowledge and sharpen our skills.

This is how we elevate care.
This is how we protect lives.
This is how we change the narrative.

As a Holistic Health Practitioner, this certification allows me to be in the rooms and spaces with clients as a High-Risk Full-Spectrum Doula with advanced training to provide proper care and services for medically complex births.

Grateful for the opportunity. Ready to do the work. 💛

This is BIG news—and long overdue. 🙌🏽✨

UnitedHealthcare has officially announced the nationwide expansion of doula support services, and this is a powerful step forward for maternal and infant health.

As an in-network provider and Full-Spectrum Doula, I am beyond honored and grateful to now extend my services to even more families—supporting them through the entire journey: from conception, to pregnancy, to postpartum. This work goes beyond clinical care. It’s emotional, physical, spiritual, and educational support—because birth is not just a medical event, it’s a life-changing experience that deserves to be held with intention and care.

The most important part is that virtual or in-person educational or doula services will be covered and included in the plan.

What makes this even more impactful? Accessibility.

Clients now have more flexibility than ever before:
• Coverage may include a set number of doula visits
• OR clients can pay out-of-pocket and request reimbursement

That means more families—especially those who previously couldn’t access this level of support—now have options. And options change outcomes.

We already know the data:
✨ Reduced rates of preterm birth and cesarean deliveries
✨ Decreased postpartum anxiety and depression
✨ Increased breastfeeding success and overall satisfaction with care

This isn’t just a “benefit.” This is a shift in how we approach maternal health.

For far too long, the system has overlooked the importance of continuous, culturally competent, trauma-informed support—especially for BIPOC communities who continue to face disproportionate maternal and neonatal outcomes.

This expansion is a step toward closing that gap.
And for me, this is personal. This is purpose. This is the work.

If you or someone you know is expecting, navigating postpartum, or planning your journey—now is the time to explore what doula support can look like for you.

We are changing the standard of care. One family at a time. 💛

Well… here’s something people sometimes find surprising about me.

Yes — I’m a Naturopathic Doctor.
Yes — I’m a holistic practitioner.
Yes — I believe deeply in natural medicine, ancestral wisdom, and supporting the body’s innate ability to heal.

But I’m also an Integrative Medicine Doctor.

And that means something very important.

It means I believe in evidence-based science and medicine first.

Natural medicine and holistic care are powerful tools — but so is modern medicine. And when used appropriately, it has saved millions of lives.

The truth is…

Healing isn’t about choosing sides.
It’s about choosing the right tools for the situation.

And this same philosophy applies to maternal healthcare.

Yes, labor and birth have become overly medicalized in many hospital systems.

Yes, unnecessary interventions happen far too often.

But we can also acknowledge something equally important:

Sometimes those very same interventions save lives.

Emergency C-sections, surgical teams, NICUs, and medical monitoring exist for a reason — and when complications arise, they can be the difference between life and death.

For that, we are deeply grateful.

The real conversation around Maternal Healthcare Reform is not about eliminating hospital births.

It’s about improving the system.

It’s about creating maternity care that is:

• trauma-informed
• culturally aware
• free from racial bias
• centered around informed consent
• respectful of the birthing experience
• supportive of physiological birth when safe

As a traditional midwife and full-spectrum doula, one of the most difficult conversations we sometimes have with families is when we must say:

“A home birth may not be the safest option for you.”

That decision is never about rejection.

It is about protection.

A responsible provider must be honest about risk, understand their scope of practice, and recognize when a hospital setting may provide the safest environment for a particular pregnancy.

Being a good healthcare provider isn’t about ideology.

It’s about integrity, knowledge, and doing what protects both parent and baby.

As a mother who has experienced two very different births, I know firsthand how much the environment, the providers, and the level of respect you receive can shape your experience.

The people around you during birth can make or break that moment.

That’s why even when hospital births are necessary, I still advocate for:

• better hospital birthing environments
• more patient consent and autonomy
• freedom of movement during labor
• fewer unnecessary interventions
• policies that prioritize human experience over speed and profit

Birth should be safe, informed, and empowering — not rushed, dismissed, or traumatic.

I recently wrote a blog sharing my perspective as a midwife, doula, and maternal health advocate, exploring the balance between natural birth advocacy and the realities of modern medicine.

If you care about maternal health, birth rights, and improving the system for families everywhere, I invite you to read it.

Because when we talk about reform, we aren’t rejecting medicine.
We’re asking for something better.

A system where science, compassion, and cultural respect work together to protect life.

Well… apparently, at the amazing age of 37, my body decided it wanted to unlock a new feature.

✨ Seasonal allergies. ✨

Nobody warned me this was part of the upgrade package.

Now, if you’re anywhere that’s starting to warm up, you already know what that means — pollen season has entered the chat. And with Friday forecasted to hit 81 degrees, the trees are about to celebrate by releasing their finest cloud of microscopic chaos into the air.

Right now, the biggest offenders are tree pollens, especially:
🌳 Oak
🌳 Cypress
🌳 Juniper
🌳 Cedar
🌳 Maple

And in some areas, warmer weather is also waking up mold spores from decomposing plant matter.

Which means a lot of people right now are walking around saying:
"Why does this cold refuse to go away?"

Plot twist… it might not be a cold at all.

Common Allergy Symptoms

Most people expect things like:
• itchy, watery eyes
• sneezing
• runny nose
• sinus congestion

But allergies can sometimes show up in ways people don’t expect.
For example, I noticed symptoms like:
• wheezing
• coughing
• chest tightness

And in more intense reactions, some people may experience:
• dizziness
• rapid pulse
• nausea
• stomach discomfort
• diarrhea
• increased anxiety

So let’s talk about a few holistic and naturopathic ways to support your body through allergy season without automatically reaching for half the pharmacy aisle.

🌿 Natural Ways to Support Your Body During Allergy Season

Saline Nasal Irrigation
Using a neti pot or saline spray helps flush pollen and mucus from the sinuses. This alone can make a huge difference.

Quercetin
A natural bioflavonoid that acts like a natural antihistamine. Found in foods like:
🍎 apples
🧅 red onions
🍓 berries
🥬 leafy greens

Local Raw Honey
Some people find that consuming local honey helps the body gradually adapt to local pollen exposure.

Butterbur & Nettle
These herbs have been studied for their ability to help reduce allergy symptoms and act as natural antihistamines.

Bromelain
An enzyme in pineapple that helps reduce inflammation and support sinus drainage.

Probiotics
Gut health and immune health are deeply connected. Foods like:
• yogurt
• kefir
• fermented vegetables
help regulate immune responses.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Can help thin mucus and support immune function.

🏡 Lifestyle Tips That Make A Big Difference

✔ Run a HEPA air filter, especially in the bedroom
✔ Keep windows closed on high pollen days
✔ Wear sunglasses or a hat outside to keep pollen out of your eyes and hair
✔ Shower after being outside to rinse pollen off skin and hair
✔ Use essential oils like eucalyptus, peppermint, or lavender to support breathing
✔ Eat spicy foods if congested — they naturally help thin mucus

A Friendly Reminder

Even natural remedies can interact with medications or certain health conditions.

Always check with your holistic practitioner or healthcare provider before adding supplements, especially if you take prescription medications.

And if you see me outside enjoying the sunshine with a cup of tea, sunglasses, and a neti pot nearby…

Just know I’m embracing my new 37-year-old seasonal allergy era with grace.

Or at least trying to.

Your body is always communicating with you — sometimes through healing, sometimes through pollen.

Stay well, breathe easy, and take care of those sinuses. 🌿

Maternal healthcare reform cannot focus only on patients — it must also support the people providing the care.

Every day, nurses, midwives, doulas, physicians, and support staff step into birth rooms where lives can change in seconds. These professionals carry the emotional weight of difficult births, emergency interventions, loss, and systemic pressures that often go unseen.

At the same time, many birthing individuals leave these experiences feeling unheard, powerless, or traumatized.

This is the intersection we must confront.

As a trauma specialist working in maternal health, I have witnessed how birth trauma impacts both patients and providers. When healthcare systems fail to recognize the psychological and neurological dimensions of birth, the consequences extend far beyond delivery day.

Postpartum PTSD, compassion fatigue, workforce burnout, and disparities in care are not isolated problems — they are systemic signals that change is needed.

Trauma-informed care offers a path forward.

When maternal healthcare systems prioritize emotional safety alongside physical safety, we can:

• Improve maternal mental health outcomes
• Strengthen trust between patients and providers
• Support the well-being of birth workers
• Address longstanding disparities in maternal care
• Create birth environments grounded in dignity and respect

I recently published a LinkedIn article exploring the need for trauma-informed maternal healthcare reform, including the challenges faced by both families and birth workers, and practical steps toward meaningful change.

If you work in healthcare, maternal health policy, or reproductive care, I invite you to read and join the conversation.

03/25/2026

Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get enough attention.

When we talk about maternal health reform, we talk about mortality rates. We talk about disparities. We talk about intervention statistics.

But we don’t talk enough about trauma.

Not just the trauma experienced by birthing individuals, which is very real and very measurable, but the trauma that reverberates through the entire birth room.

Perinatal trauma is not rare.
Obstetric violence is not imaginary.
Vicarious trauma in birth workers is not “just burnout.”

It’s cumulative. It’s documented. And it’s preventable.

Doulas.
Midwives.
Labor & delivery nurses.
Birth assistants.

These are the professionals who hold space for one of the most vulnerable, sacred, and life-altering moments in a family’s life. And too often, they are:

• Overworked
• Understaffed
• Disrespected
• Silenced
• Pressured by rigid protocols
• Forced to witness coercion or unnecessary escalation
• Left without debriefing or emotional support

We cannot demand better birth outcomes while ignoring the environments producing trauma.

We cannot call for maternal health equity while maintaining systems that traumatize both patients and providers.

When caregivers are unsupported, care suffers.
When systems prioritize speed over safety, trauma increases.
When profit outweighs consent, dignity erodes.

Healthy births require healthy systems.
Healthy systems require protected, supported birth workers.

I’ve published a research-based white paper titled:
“Perinatal Trauma, Obstetric Violence, and Vicarious Trauma in Birth Workers”

In it, I explore:

• The scope of traumatic birth experiences
• The global recognition of obstetric violence
• The measurable psychological impact on birth workers
• The difference between burnout and vicarious trauma
• The racial disparities embedded in maternity systems
• Evidence-based policy and institutional reforms

This isn’t about blaming individuals.
It’s about reforming systems.

If you care about maternal health…
If you care about healthcare reform…
If you care about protecting women, babies, and the professionals who serve them…

I encourage you to read this paper.

Awareness is the first step.
Policy change follows informed advocacy.
And reform begins with honest conversation.

Birth should not feel like a battlefield.
It should be a protected ground.

✨ The day has finally arrived. ✨

Sacred Flesh and Beyond Chemistry are now officially available on Amazon.

This isn’t just a book launch.
It’s a call to return.

We are living in a time of noise, division, distraction, and emotional fatigue. Connection feels fragile. Truth feels clouded. Humanity feels strained. And in the middle of all of it, many of us are walking around dysregulated, disconnected, and depleted—wondering why we feel so far from ourselves and from each other.

That is exactly why these books were written.

Beyond Chemistry: Hormones, Healing & Human Connection in the Age of Disconnection explores the science behind what we are experiencing. How stress reshapes our hormones. How trauma impacts our nervous systems. How cortisol, oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin influence our ability to bond, trust, and feel safe. It unpacks why disconnection is not just emotional—it’s physiological. And why healing must begin within the body if we are going to restore connection in our relationships and communities.

Sacred Flesh: The Science, Spirit, & The Power of Intimacy takes us deeper. Into the sacredness of our bodies. Into the truth that intimacy was never meant to be casual disembodiment. It confronts hypers*xuality born from trauma, fear of commitment, shame around the womb, the distortion of masculinity, and the loss of reverence for human connection. It reminds us that our flesh is not something to numb or exploit—it is something to honor.

Together, these books represent the full human experience:
Science and Spirit.
Biology and Soul.
Hormones and Holiness.

In a world that often reduces us to survival mode, this is an invitation to remember that we are sacred beings. Our bodies are intelligent. Our connection is powerful. Our healing matters.

If you are ready to reconnect—with yourself, your truth, your partnerships, and your humanity—these books are for you.

Intimacy is so much deeper than physical touch.
And when we reduce it to only s*x, we miss the very foundation that creates lasting connection, safety, and fulfillment.

As a Board Certified Sexologist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Intimacy Coach, I teach that intimacy is multidimensional. It lives in how we speak to one another, how we listen, how we play, how we think, how we pray, and how we show up consistently.

There are five core types of intimacy that every healthy relationship needs:

✨ Emotional Intimacy – Feeling safe to be vulnerable, seen, and understood
🤍 Physical Intimacy – Touch, affection, sensuality, and connection to the body
🧠 Intellectual Intimacy – Stimulating conversations, shared ideas, curiosity
🌿 Spiritual Intimacy – Shared values, faith, purpose, and inner alignment
🌍 Experiential Intimacy – Creating memories, adventure, growth, and joy together

When one of these areas is neglected, the relationship begins to feel disconnected, even if the others are present. That’s why “working on intimacy” isn’t about doing more, it’s about becoming more aware and more intentional.

Real intimacy requires:
• Presence
• Accountability
• Communication
• Safety
• Consistency
• Teamwork

This is the kind of intimacy that heals nervous systems, deepens trust, and transforms relationships into sacred partnerships.

Ask yourself:
Which form of intimacy feels strongest in your life right now?
And which one is asking for more attention?

Because intimacy isn’t automatic.
It’s cultivated.
It’s conscious.
And it’s powerful.

Your Body Is Not Broken. It’s Brilliant.

Your body isn’t malfunctioning.
It’s communicating.

Symptoms are signals.
Hormones are messengers.
Intimacy is medicine.
Connection is regulation.

In Beyond Chemistry, we explore the science behind how trauma, stress, and disconnection shape the body.
In Sacred Flesh, we explore the spiritual truth of how the body holds power, wisdom, and sacred intelligence.

Together, they remind you that your healing is both biological and divine.

✨ Big News. Big Impact. Big Step for Birth Justice. ✨

I am incredibly proud to announce my official onboarding with United Healthcare as an Independent Contractor and In-Network Participating Provider for my Wholistic Doula Services here in North Carolina.

This is more than a contract.
This is a doorway opening for families who have been historically overlooked, underserved, and underprotected during one of the most sacred seasons of life.

United Healthcare is actively building one of the most comprehensive national networks of birthworkers, centered on:
• Culturally sensitive care
• Trauma-informed support
• Improved maternal and infant outcomes
• Closing the gaps in perinatal healthcare access

I am honored to stand in alignment with a system that recognizes the power of doulas to change lives, outcomes, and generational health.

My doula package through United Healthcare will be one of the most comprehensive service offerings available to members, and I’m proud to say they are also currently offering the best compensation structure for doulas in our state—finally valuing this work at the level it deserves.

And this is only the beginning.
I am actively involved in onboarding and negotiations with:
• Carolina Complete Health
• WellCare
• The Doula Exchange

With the goal of achieving full Medicaid and Medicare coverage for our services.
This is how systems change—step by step, contract by contract, voice by voice.

📊 Why this matters in North Carolina:

North Carolina is in a maternal health crisis.

• Maternal mortality rates have doubled from 2019
– From 22 per 100,000 to 44 per 100,000
• For Black mothers, the rate is 61.4 per 100,000
compared to 22.3 for white mothers

Black babies experience mortality rates 1.7 times higher than the state average.

Leading contributors include:
• Preterm birth
• Low birth weight
• SIDS
• Maternal complications
• Limited access to care
• Lack of culturally responsive services

And the infrastructure is failing families:

• 40% of NC counties have no hospital or birthing center offering maternity care
• 20% are classified as Maternity Care Deserts
• 17% have low to moderate access

A Maternity Care Desert means:
No hospital, no birth center, and no obstetric clinicians
(no OBs, no midwives, no family physicians delivering babies)

Low-access counties may have:
• One or fewer facilities
• Too few providers
• Or high uninsured populations

This is not accidental.
This is what happens when communities are under-resourced and under-prioritized.

And this is exactly why doula care is not a luxury — it is a necessity.

United Healthcare stepping into this space is monumental.
They are helping fill the gaps where systems have failed.
They are acknowledging that birth outcomes improve when families are supported, informed, empowered, and culturally understood.

This is what alignment looks like.
This is what progress feels like.
This is what purpose in motion sounds like.

To my families, my community, and every mother who deserves safety, dignity, and support:
We are building something powerful.

And we are just getting started.

✨ NOW AVAILABLE — ENCODED IN THE STARS ✨

I’m beyond honored (and honestly still in awe) to finally share my newest release:

📘 Encoded in the Stars: The Science of Destiny and the Blueprint of the Soul

This is a 460+ page deep dive into esoteric ancestral science, epigenetics, quantum theory, neuroscience, astrology, Human Design, lineage healing, and metaphysical law—brought together in one cohesive, research-informed, soul-awakening text. The book also includes beautiful full-color charts, diagrams, and visuals to help you truly see your blueprint, not just read about it.

This work is both a continuation and an expansion of Awakened Science. Where that book revealed the bridge between quantum physics and divinity, this one ventures deeper into the personal—into you.

“I wrote Encoded in the Stars: The Science of Destiny and the Blueprint of the Soul as both a continuation and expansion of the work I began in Awakened Science. That first book unveiled the bridge between quantum physics and divinity—the sacred union of consciousness and creation. This one ventures deeper into the personal: into the moment you were written into existence.

From the exact alignment of planets at your birth, to the frequencies that shaped your DNA, to the ancestral codes carried in your bloodline—everything about you was intelligently woven together by the Universe’s own design. You are a living equation of time, space, vibration, and purpose. And the moment you learn to decode your personal blueprint, life begins to unfold in clarity, not chaos.”

And let me be clear—this is not a book of fortune-telling or mysticism for entertainment.

“This is not a book of fortune-telling or mysticism for entertainment. It is a text of remembrance, a manual for self-realization, and an invitation to align your biology, psychology, and spirituality with your divine coordinates. Through the lens of quantum science, epigenetics, and metaphysical law, you will see how your destiny is not controlled by the stars—but reflected in them.”

📘 Encoded in the Stars: The Science of Destiny and the Blueprint of the Soul

What if your life was never random—only unread?

After Awakened Science, where we explored how modern physics and quantum mechanics finally confirmed what ancient civilizations and spiritual traditions have always known—that science and spirituality are not separate—I now invite you to go deeper.

✨ Encoded in the Stars is the next chapter.

In this book, we move beyond understanding the universe…
and into remembering that you are of it.

The moment you took your first breath, the cosmos aligned—handing you a unique energetic blueprint. Your destiny was not written as fate, but as frequency—guiding your life through purpose, challenge, lineage, and awakening.

In this book, we explore:
🔹 Life purpose & destiny
🔹 Karmic lessons & spiritual initiation
🔹 Lineage, ancestral memory & cycle breaking
🔹 Human Design, Astrology, Astrocartography & Numerology
🔹 Why challenges are not punishments—but activations

This work reframes the question from:
“Why is life happening to me?”
to:
“What am I meant to learn, heal, and embody through this experience?”

These tools were never meant to box you in.
They were designed to guide you—offering clarity, awareness, and choice.

You were never meant to be limited.
You are as infinite as the universe itself.

Being “written in the stars” doesn’t mean your life is fixed.
It means your experiences were designed to help you remember
who you were always meant to be.

✨ It was never about becoming someone else.
✨ It has always been about coming home to yourself.
