This was Marissa’s bachelorette weekend💍

Her sister planned the whole thing and wanted to give her something different — something meaningful. A room full of her favorite people — friends from different parts of her life came together.

When I walked in, the energy was high. Excited chatter, everyone buzzing. And within minutes, the whole room shifted. Shoulders dropped. Breath slowed. A few gentle snores. A full nervous system reset.

By the end, they weren’t just relaxed — they were reconnected. To themselves. To each other.

This is the kind of moment your people are craving and don’t even know it.

Burnout doesn’t always look like exhaustion.

Sometimes it looks like doing everything “right” — and still feeling empty. Disconnected from the things that used to light you up. Going through the motions. Not recognizing who you’ve become.

I know because I’ve been there.

What brought me back wasn’t doing more. It was finally giving my nervous system permission to rest. That’s when I started finding my way back to myself.

You’re not broken. You’re just depleted. And there’s a way back. 🤍

What it reminded me of in the moment was that nobody is coming to save me. In that moment when the water was spilling over, I knew I couldn’t freeze or panic. I needed to find a solution, right there ASAP. Thankfully I did fairly quickly. First I threw down towels and was able to angle a bucket perfectly to catch the water. But fiddling around in the toilet tank is what stopped the running water. So now you know a little trick🫠

But seriously though, in those moments when I felt the panic creep in a bit, my train of thought was, “it’s too early to call a plumber and even if I did, by the time they got there it would be a big mess, so I need to problem solve & come up with creative solutions”.

Even in the moment, I found the situation quite humorous, I’m there in my robe, early morning, my plan was to have a peaceful, slow morning and here I am trying to stopping a running toilet. The universe has a weird sense of humor. After situations like these, I’m always asking myself, “what exactly was the lesson here?? This seemingly random inconvenience - what was the point lol? Because I don’t believe anything is random and there are lessons in everything.

It was a good reminder that I got me and I can face whatever flows into my life, pun intended 😂 It reminded me not to take life too seriously, to laugh a little more & to let go of control, because despite what I might think, I’m not in control anyways🥴 and life is not that serious.

This purchase has been a long time coming…
I’ve been pushing it off for a while. I believe there was some fear around making a big purchase like this for my business. Like it would make my business feel more real. And the part of me that sometimes felt imposter syndrome would no longer have a place to exist.

But recently I felt that it was time for an upgrade. My community deserves for me to show up fully.

I can’t wait for my next sound bath!

When I decided to start my podcast in January 2026, I knew it was about damn time. No more waiting for perfection, whether it was having the perfect scene set up, professional lighting & equipment, being polished & saying just the right things. All of that was getting in the way of me going after my dream. Until I DECIDED that I was not waiting any longer. Fast forward a couple of months, I’m still in the newbie stage, finding my voice, I’ve been filming on my iPhone, maxing out my storage constantly🥴 You feel me? It was getting frustrating lol.

And then a couple of weeks ago, I was sitting with a friend brainstorming & researching podcasting techniques, styling etc when my friend suggested that I can just get some cheap light set up and that can make a big difference to the aesthetic of my content.

And then it hit me! Damn, I have all the top equipment I need🙈 Right in my closet. One of my many passions is portrait photography & I had invested in some great lighting equipment a few years ago & I had an amazing camera too. WTH was I doing filming on my iPhone in the yellow overhead lighting??😂

Well thankfully I remembered how to set it all up, that light stand had me confused for a bit🤔 Now it’s time for the fun as I relearn how to effectively use the lighting. I can’t wait to uplevel my content creation 😊
