Down near the bend of the river, where the mud is rich and the water glows red at sunset, there lived a proud little red river hog.
One hot afternoon, she spotted something sparkling by the water’s edge. Curious, she trotted over and peered down — and there it was… the prettiest hog she’d ever seen staring right back at her!

“Well, look at you!” she snorted with delight, tilting her head. “That fur! That shine! That smile! You must be somethin’ special!”

She wiggled, grinned, and even struck a pose — until the wind rippled across the water, turning her reflection into a blur of wobbly shapes and muddy ripples.

“Hmmph,” she said, squinting. “Guess the river got jealous.”

The other animals burst out laughing. “That’s you, darling!” called a heron from a rock.

The red river hog thought about it for a second… then let out the biggest, happiest snort.
“Well then,” she said proudly, “I’m even more fabulous than I realized — with or without clear water!”

And from that day on, she strutted along that riverbank like she owned the whole sunset — mud, curls, and all.
Moral: Sometimes life gets messy, the picture isn’t perfect, and the water gets cloudy — but confidence and joy still shine through, just like that red river glow.
