This strong guy did a wonderful job during his 1 week intensive and he accomplished so many new things. On day one we were able to help him achieve his first sit to stand ever! At that time, he needed his arms to help him and he had limited extension at his hips to stay upright. By day 4 he was consistently completing this transition without the use of his hands and he was demonstrating a big improvement in his postural holding with extension through his hips and trunk. Way to go T! You crushed this move šŸ’Ŗ

Happy 3rd birthday to Move 🄳

To say that I’m thankful to be celebrating this ā€œbirthdayā€ is a huge understatement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who made this a possibility.

One of my OG patients from Augusta absolutely destroying preconceived notions (not mine 😁) that he couldn’t understand enough to step and that he didn’t have enough undamaged brain tissue to signal his legs to move. Noah taught me more than I could ever teach him and I’m honored to have played a small part in his journey. He is an incredible man now who keeps breaking down barriers and I’m so proud of him and his mom for always striving for more ā¤ļø

Floor āž”ļø Sitting

These slides demonstrate how to help your child go from lying on their stomach into sitting. This movement is not only a very functional transition but it incorporates some foundational movement principles like weight shifting, elongation on the weight bearing side, leg dissociation and rotation. These components of movement are essential for the development of higher level skills like crawling and walking and beyond. This skill is safe to work on with anyone 6 months old and above - but please check with your therapist or doctor before trying it if you have any concerns.

Feel free to ask any questions you have about this transition below!

Happy 1 year work-iversary to Erica! Since she started at Move she has continually provided exceptional care to hundreds of kids. She has helped kids learn to keep their heads upright, sit, crawl, stand, walk, use their hands and arms better and so much more! There is nothing that she can’t do! Move would not be the same without her and we are so thankful for her hard work, dedication, creativity and passion for helping the best kids ever. Cheers to 1 year down and at least 50 more to go šŸ˜‚
