This week’s spotlights our Family & Alumni Program Coordinator, DaKeita Staton, LCMHC-A, LCAS-A.

💜And, we’re excited to share page 53 out of this year’s SHARE Charlotte Holiday Giving Guide, featuring DaKeita in action!

✨ According to DaKeita, “Nothing is more inspiring to me than providing family members with a sense of hope.”

✨ She is responsible for supporting family members as they navigate the challenges of addiction and recovery alongside their loved ones. She has worked in the field for over seven years, holding a variety of roles and learning at each stage about the power and persistence of the disease.

🤝 The goal of family support group, which meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings of the month) is to help individuals maintain a sense of peace despite the ongoing cycle of addiction. Participants learn to set and maintain healthy boundaries, explore how they have been personally affected by addiction, and, most importantly, discover the value of relinquishing control.

🫶 With Thanksgiving around the corner, we warmly invite you to join our next Family Suport Group Wednesday, November 26th at 6:30p and find grounding and resources before the Holiday Season begins.

shoutout to
🏆 Whitney Head, recipient of our annual Roof Raiser Award

✨ Whitney is not only detail-oriented but she also brings a calm presence and a kind approach into every interaction. She consistently advocates for patients’ rights and never hesitates to step in, investigate thoroughly, and ensure staff get clear, accurate answers backed by real-world examples and regulations.

✨ She takes true ownership of her role, keeping McLeod compliant and aligned with our core value of always “doing the right thing.” When called upon to fill in, she has answered questions, guided staff, and kept operations on track without missing a beat. Staff know they can count on her reliability, thoroughness, and ability to problem-solve at any moment.

👏 Whitney is a trusted leader, a steady collaborator, and a true pillar not just of the compliance team, but of McLeod as a whole.
