This might mean that you drag your desk over by a window, or at least just make sure all your windows are open so that sunlight can come through.

Be the best you!! OPIMIZE your health now - remember 'normal levels are not optimal' so dont' be fooled.

My beloved sweet boy Kobi passed away this week. 🌈

It has been a whirlwind of emotions and I am still trying to figure out how to cope. I have mastered compassion and empathy while working in healthcare, but I’m still vulnerable to this grieving process.

Kobi was a big part of my heart and now it feels partly empty. To fill the void I will try to live my life with positivity and joy like he did.

I appreciate all the love provided by family and friends.

The holidays are just around a corner! It is a time of joy and giving – and HOLIDAY FOOD!

If you didn’t know, many of the holiday foods include ingredients that are good for you. Now this is not a green light to over indulge. Remember to eat them in moderation and don’t slack on getting your veggies. Holiday foods can be high in sugar content, which may suppress your immune system and may increase inflammation in your body.

Here’s a list of some delicious holiday ingredients and their health benefits:

Peppermint – helps with IBS, indigestion, and infantile colic. It does the opposite with GERD so avoid if you have reflux. Aids in respiratory issues, bad breath, and muscle spasms. It can also be stress reducing/energizing.

Cranberries – have a high level of antioxidants, high fiber content helps to lower β€œbad” cholesterol levels, and can help fight off UTI’s.

Pumpkin – contains heart-healthy fiber and vitamin A for a strong immune system and vision. It is high in potassium for workout recovery, high in in vitamin C for healthy skin and immune system support, and high in beta-carotenes for younger looking skin. Pumpkin seeds contain plant sterols that help lower the LDL bad cholesterol and have tryptophan to elevate the mood.

Ginger – helps in digestive issues, such as nausea and motion sickness. It may also help to boost the immune system to help fight off upper respiratory infections and work as an anti-inflammatory to provide relief from arthritis.

Chestnut – high in fiber, high in B vitamins, and high in manganese, which is a trace mineral that helps with immune system.

Nutmeg – may help improve circulation and blood pressure, improves insomnia, and digestive health. This is one you have to be very careful with – too much can lead to serious health concerns!

Cinnamon – helps with reducing heart disease, lowers cholesterol, and maintaining appropriate blood sugar levels.

Cloves – is rich in antioxidants, may improve blood sugar levels, and when used topically, clove can help reduce toothache.

Cardamom – is used for digestive issues, lowering blood pressure, and is high in antioxidants.

Cacao – is rich in antioxidants, magnesium, and is heart healthy.

Vanilla – aids in intestinal gas, is rich in antioxidants, reduces inflammation, and rich in antioxidants.
