Okay, so maybe it’s not a one strike game. I’ve got a lengthy history of giving more chances and assumptions of ‘positive intent’ than people have deserved, but I always felt like it was worth it to preserve my humanity.

Until I learned boundaries, and the peace and happiness that can exist when they are upheld.

Whether we are talking family, relationships, friendships or leadership and coworking, it’s important to know where your boundaries are and how to hold them - respectfully - and when to let people go if they can’t do the same.

It’s a complicated but very important practice, with clarity around nuance and embodied practices at the core of how to find the right balance for you.

Navigating ‘one of those weeks’ which has been a consistent theme since before, and certainly after this actual publish date.

We are gearing up to release our spring resourcing and a new series to support ourselves and communities as we grieve, live, fight and love - in repeat.

For everyone working through personal struggles, on top of global grief and chaos, exacerbated by existential dread, I just want to say - I see you.

If you are feeling everything that is going on in your bones, and body, and through a perpetually clenched jaw and brain fog interrupted and furthered by rage, nothing is wrong with you. Everything is wrong around you - and us - and this is the appropriate bodily response to danger.

Resilience and resistance will look different and feel different for each of us, because our bodies know survival and have adapted in our own ways. So wherever you find yourself today, lean into what you can do, where you can resist and how you can show up for yourself and others.

While it feels like there is very little up side to this chapter and these moments of collective and individual trauma, one thing is different from how we have experienced this before — this time we are not alone. Isolation is not the call or impulse - it’s community. Shame is not silencing the voice - outrage is fueling it.

How do we not give our power to the abuse, and to the trauma? We name it. We call it out. We reject the shame and we place it on the perpetrator. We fill ourselves with our power, with consciousness, and with so much truth that we are larger than life — because we are. When we come together we are quite literally larger than our one life and that is a force more powerful than any voice or platform trying to threaten or gaslight us.

That’s all for now, but more to come.

It’s been a long few months full of necessary change, uninvited challenge, and some deep lessons in balancing it all.

The road is long, and distance is unknown, but the good news is that at this point I’m feeling as strong as I can. Embracing the uncertainty and letting go of the unnecessary is the name of the game. So I’m settling in, and keeping the hope. 🫶🏼

The 2016 edit.

And I do mean e-d-i-t. So here we go.

This year is one I look back on as the one that taught me everything I didn’t want [to be, to have, to tolerate, to learn, and to survive].

It taught me about misplaced grief. Trauma bonding. Exhaustion. Misalignment. And betrayal.

I learned that you are a reflection of the company you keep. That you can have all the ‘things’ but when you give up your power and agency you are left with nothing authentic.

I learned how people and energy (or lacktherof) can make you sicker than any virus.

And, most importantly, I learned how to begin again. To take the small, incremental, and uncomfortable AF steps to reclaim and return [to] myself. I learned patience, release, and the necessity of change.

It’s not on the highlight reel, but it made the highlight reel possible in ways I never could have understood or imagined.

And that has made all the difference. 🫶🏼

Another rewind to revisit a 2025 post on our Substack as we re-ground before launching all the new content, intent and programs for 2026.

And yes, we know it’s mid-January. No, we are not in a rush. We reset in March when it feels more natural for us. So, here we are 🌱

This week we’re talking boundaries: what they are, how to hold them, and how to respect them.

As we finish out the reflecting on and shedding of the ‘9’ year themes from 2025 (no, 12/31 was not a hard cutoff), consider the moments in the past when something fell apart. Blocked you, didn’t work out how you thought or planned, or changed the direction you were headed in your life.

Whether large or small, from this past year or farther in the last, reflect back to that time and consider the following questions:

♠️ What happened?

♠️ How did it feel / show up in your body?

♠️ What was the fear in your mind telling you?

♠️ Was the negative self talk familiar (repetitive) or new?

♠️ How did you get through it?

♠️ How do you wish you got through it?

♠️ If you went back in time and met yourself in that moment, what would you tell yourself, knowing what you know now?

♠️ How could that same advice be applied to this moment?

♠️ How can you frame (or reframe) your thoughts and mindset about any challenging situations today?

♠️ What opportunities can you see?

♠️ How can you stay open to the opportunities you DON’T see yet?

Bringing back our Veterans Day post as an evergreen grief reflection. No matter the day of the year, someone is losing a loved one, someone is sacrificing something sacred to protect another, and we are all missing someone we’ve loved. Grief doesn’t have a time of year, but the holidays and darker days can just be harder. We get it.

‘In 2018 I lost part of myself; my co-conspirator, the heart to my soul, and the other half of most of my childhood. While I’ve had a long and deep relationship with grief that has spanned decades, this was the ‘too close to home’ loss that shifted the composite of my being, and how I exist in the world.
There are relationships and experiences in life that shape us, they teach us what trust and connection are — not just what it means, but how it feels. It’s secure attachment at the core level, and provides the stabilizing experience of being known — of belonging somewhere in the world — living shared experiences that gives us perspective, purpose, and that core sense that we are a part of something, no matter what scale. It’s not about bloodlines or biology, it’s so much deeper and proven than that.’.....
