Spring is a great time for a reset, but for many families, big changes can feel overwhelming.

So instead of doing everything at once, we created a simple 9-step Spring Reset Visual Schedule you can follow at your own pace.

This schedule is designed to help your child:
✔ Understand what comes next
✔ Stay engaged in the process
✔ Feel more confident with daily routines

You can use this as a daily guide, break it into smaller steps, or adapt it to fit your family’s needs.

Because a reset doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to feel doable. You can save this post and come back to it as a daily guide, or adapt it to fit your child’s unique needs.

At Connect n Care ABA, we believe support should feel practical, approachable, and built for real life, not just ideal routines.

If your family could benefit from additional structure or support, we’re here to help.

There’s a big difference between Autism Awareness and Autism Acceptance, and BOTH matter.

🔹 Awareness is about recognizing autism and understanding what it means.

🔹 Acceptance is about inclusion, compassion, and valuing people for exactly who they are.

At Connect n Care ABA, we move beyond awareness into a space of full acceptance, because everyone deserves to feel seen, respected, and supported. 💜🧡

✨ Closing Out Employee Appreciation Month with Growth Worth Celebrating

Please join us in celebrating two incredible members of our Connect n Care family:
🎉 Danielle Ponte – promoted from BCaBA to BCBA
🎉 Gracee Keith – promoted from RBT to BCaBA

Danielle and Gracee: we are so proud of you and cheering you on every step of the way! 👏

What makes this moment even more special is how they got here.

Both Danielle and Gracee grew through our Student Analyst Program, a hands-on, supportive pathway designed to mentor and develop future clinicians with intention, structure, and real-world experience.

We’ve had the privilege of watching their journey up close, and their dedication, consistency, and heart for the families they serve have stood out every step of the way.

🧡 This is what investing in people looks like.
💜 This is what quality, ethical supervision looks like.
🧡This is how we build stronger care for the families we serve.

We are so fortunate to have you both as part of the CNC crew; and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you!

👉 Help us celebrate Danielle & Gracee in the comments!

You don’t need more “therapy time.”
You need moments that actually work in real life.

If you’ve ever thought…
“I don’t know how to carry this over at home…”
You’re not alone.

The truth is: progress doesn’t just happen in sessions.
It happens in the small, everyday moments you’re already living.

✨ Here are 3 simple ways to turn daily routines into powerful learning moments:
1. Playtime → Communication Practice
Pause before handing over a toy.
Give your child a chance to request, gesture, or make a sound.
(Yes—even 2 extra seconds matters.)

2. Mealtime → Choice-Making
Offer two options: “Apple or banana?”
This builds communication and independence, without adding stress.

3. Transitions → Predictability + Trust
Use simple, consistent phrases like:
“First clean up, then outside.”

Over time, this reduces frustration and builds understanding.
These aren’t “extra tasks.”
They’re small shifts in what you’re already doing.
And they add up in a big way.

Because real progress?
It lives in everyday life, not just therapy sessions.

What’s one routine at home that feels challenging right now?
Drop it below: we’d love to share ideas that can help 💬

Save this for later when you need simple, doable ideas.

Every child experiences the world differently, and that’s okay. 💜
Sensory needs are not “behaviors to fix”, they’re ways children communicate, regulate, and engage with their environment.

When we understand those needs, we can better support calm, focus, and confidence.
✨ Try simple, everyday sensory activities:
• Hands-on play (sensory bins, Play-Doh)
• “Heavy work” (pushing, carrying, animal walks)
• Movement breaks (swinging, jumping)
• Calming sounds or music
• Visual supports (dim lighting, schedules)
• Oral input (chewy snacks, bubbles)

The most important part?

👉 Follow your child’s lead and notice what helps them feel safe and regulated.

At Connect n Care, we believe in meeting children where they are, supporting families with strategies that feel natural, respectful, and effective.

💬 Which sensory activities does your child enjoy most? Share below, we’d love to hear from you.

Today starts Neurodiversity Celebration Week. 🌈

Every child experiences the world in their own unique way, and that diversity is something to value and support.

At Connect n Care ABA, we’re proud to stand alongside families and the neurodivergent community as we celebrate strengths, individuality, and the many ways minds can work.

Because every child deserves to be understood, supported, and celebrated. 💜🧡

Many women reach adulthood feeling “different”… but never knowing why.

During Women’s History Month, it’s important to talk about something that often goes unnoticed: autism in adult women.

For years, autism research focused mostly on boys. Because of that, many women learned to mask their traits instead of recognizing them.
And masking can be exhausting.

Here are some signs autism may show up differently in adult women:
• Masking or camouflaging – copying social behaviors, speech patterns, or expressions to fit in

• Social exhaustion – needing significant time alone to recover after social interaction

• Intense interests – deep passion for specific subjects like psychology, literature, animals, or research

• Sensory sensitivities – strong reactions to sounds, smells, lighting, or clothing textures

• Rigid routines – feeling distressed when plans or schedules change unexpectedly

• Literal communication style – difficulty with sarcasm or vague language

• Internalized meltdowns – emotional overwhelm that shows up as withdrawal, anxiety, or shutdown rather than outward outbursts

Many undiagnosed women share similar experiences:
Feeling like they’re “too sensitive.”
Struggling with anxiety or burnout from trying to navigate social expectations.
Spending years wondering why things feel harder than they seem for others.

If you recognize these patterns in yourself or someone you care about, speaking with a professional familiar with the female presentation of autism can be an important next step.

💬 Have you heard about how autism can present differently in women?

If this was helpful, save or share it so more families and adults can learn about the many ways autism can present.

Ever wonder why certain sounds, textures, or lights can feel overwhelming for some children? 🤔

It often comes down to how the brain processes sensory information.

Sensory processing actually happens in five stages that help the brain receive, understand, and respond to the world around us.

When one stage becomes difficult, children may experience sensory overload, avoidance, or sensory-seeking behaviors.

And here’s something many parents need to hear:
These reactions aren’t “bad behavior.”
They’re often signals that a child’s brain is processing information differently.

Understanding these stages can help parents better recognize their child’s sensory needs and support them more effectively.

Parents have you noticed your child being especially sensitive to sounds, textures, or movement?
