Winter changes more than the weather.

We often see subtle shifts in breathing, muscle tension, and sleep this time of year — and for many adults, those changes show up as jaw pain, clenching, and unrestful nights.

These patterns aren’t random.
They’re how the body adapts.

With the right support, they’re also something we can work with — gently and intentionally.

If this resonates with you, you’re not alone 🤍
What changes do you notice in your body during winter?

We’re so excited to officially share the 2026 Airway Circle – North Carolina Chapter meeting dates 🤍

This year is all about bringing airway-focused providers together to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the way we care for patients — from breathing and sleep to growth, posture, and function. With our meeting dates and speakers now set, we’re looking forward to a year of meaningful conversations, shared learning, and connection across our airway-focused community.

If you’re a provider who’s passionate about whole-person, airway-centered care, we’d love to have you join us. These are provider-only gatherings designed to support collaboration and continued learning.

Save the dates and RSVP when you’re ready to connect ✨

Today looked like 3 out of 5 of us out and about in the Lake Norman, Mooresville, and Huntersville area — sharing New Year wishes and letting our referral partners know we’re now seeing more clients at Soul Wellness Holistic Center.

We loved getting to connect face-to-face and are so grateful for the continued collaboration that makes truly whole-person care possible 🌿

New spaces, new faces, and so much meaningful work, both seen and unseen.
We’re incredibly grateful for the families who trusted us, the providers who collaborated with us, and the steady progress that added up throughout the year.

Myo Advent • Day 24 🎄 | Crossing the Midline

Crossing the midline helps the brain and body communicate more efficiently and supports whole-body organization.

This movement helps support:
✨ coordination and balance
✨ sensory awareness
✨ right + left brain communication
✨ functional breathing and posture

How we practice it:
❄️ start seated or standing with elbow to opposite palm
❄️ progress to knee to opposite palm for added challenge
❄️ return to start position between each repetition
❄️ check in on the foundations: tongue to spot, lips sealed, nasal breathing
Simple movements. Big integration.

That’s a wrap on Myo Advent 🎄
Thank you for being part of our journey and practicing daily skills to support your tongue, breath, and body.

Myo Advent • Day 23 🎄

Adding a balloon to the blow ball pipe helps slow things down and encourages controlled, intentional airflow rather than fast or forceful blowing. This version places more emphasis on breath control, lip seal, and coordination.

We’re looking for a gentle nasal inhale, a steady lip seal around the pipe (no teeth), relaxed cheeks, and a slow, controlled exhale to inflate the balloon.

Practicing this way can help support:
• improved lip strength and endurance
• better breath control and pacing
• awareness of cheek and facial muscle use
• opportunities to check in on tongue posture and nasal breathing between repetitions

As always, quality over quantity — slow and controlled is the goal.

Taking a little pause for the holidays 🤍

Our office will be closed so our team can spend time with loved ones, rest their nervous systems, and come back refreshed and ready to support you.

We’ll reopen on January 5th. Messages will be returned when we’re back.

Thank you for being part of our MyoMovement community — we’re so grateful for you.

Myo Advent Day 22 🎄

A wobble cushion adds gentle movement while staying seated — perfect for homework, reading, or classroom tasks.

We recommend starting with short sessions and focusing on slow, controlled movement. Over time, this steady input can help support attention and reduce excess fidgeting.

As the body finds a natural rhythm, it’s also a nice time to check in on nasal breathing and tongue posture, keeping lips closed and the tongue resting on the palate.

Simple. Functional. Effective.

Myo Advent — Day 21 🎄

Tick Tocks focus on tongue coordination, timing, and control — key skills for building efficient, functional movement patterns.
Move slowly and intentionally, letting the tongue do the work while the jaw and face stay relaxed.

Things to watch for:
– Jaw shifting or opening
– Facial tension
– Speeding up instead of staying controlled

If you notice compensations, pause, reset, and keep it smooth.
Quality reps > rushing.
