Gua sha which means to ‘scrape away illness,’ comes from traditional Chinese medicine. Scraping or applying pressure to the skin increases circulation, which brings more oxygen and blow flow to the region. Gua sha also releases stuck toxins & impurities allowing them to enter the bloodstream to be released.

This treatment can be indicated in a range of soft tissue disorders like fascial restrictions, chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, plantar fasciitis etc.

Gua sha is also known as Iastm (instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation).

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping therapy is similar to massage, the only difference is negative pressure is applied vs positive pressure. The negative pressure pulls whatever is stagnant in the tissues to the surface and in turn, allows your circulatory and lymphatic system to help dispose of the waste and brings fresh new oxygenated blood to the underlying tissue.
