📢 Policy Update: Major Win for Moms & Babies

Big news for maternal and infant health advocates 💛
Congress has passed the PREEMIE Reauthorization Act and the Preventing Maternal Deaths Reauthorization Act as part of a bipartisan, bicameral funding package, now headed to the President’s 🤡 desk.

What this means:
   •   🍼 Stronger action on preterm birth through expanded research, education, and proven interventions
   •   🤍 Improved maternal mortality prevention by strengthening support for Maternal Mortality Review Committees, helping states better understand and prevent pregnancy-related deaths
   •   💰 FY 2026 funding secured for critical programs including:
      •   Healthy Start
      •   Maternal & Child Health Services Block Grant
      •   Newborn Screening
      •   Safe Motherhood Initiative
      •   Maternal Mental Health Hotline

We’re deeply grateful to the bipartisan champions who helped move this forward, including Senators Michael Bennet, John Boozman, Shelley Moore Capito, and Raphael Warnock—along with Representatives Buddy Carter, Diana DeGette, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Kathy Castor, Kat Cammack, Robin Kelly, Ryan Mackenzie, Shontel Brown, and Jen Kiggans.
