I get a lot of questions about what it was like to start living outside of the traditional medical model and this is the first time I’m sitting down to tell my story!

I sat down with one of my absolute favorite people,

How do you feel about the new food pyramid?

If you know me, you know I LOVE steak and I’m thrilled to see it take its rightful place at the TOP of the pyramid.

Personally, I started eating this way over 4 years ago and was able to heal chronic illness, get off of multiple medications, and feel better than I had my entire life.

Unfortunately even my gastroenterologist told me what I ate didn’t matter because I was destined to be sick.

‼️So excited to announce that last week’s sourdough workshop raised $1,125 for !!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this small but mighty event!

The Relatives is a system of resources that helps youth in Charlotte find shelter and support. They provide meals, shelter, and resources to help keep kids and young adults safe and families together. They are also the head of the Safe Place agency for Mecklenburg county!

🎉🥳🎈Let’s take a moment to wish a happy happy birthday!

Not just my husband, but my grillmaster, photographer, gardener, animal lover, and biggest health advocate. No one sees the behind the scenes, but he’s the reason everything around here gets done!

He’s made dinner for weeks on end when I was sick and when I was spending late nights writing my cookbook and creating my website. He saves the day when I forget something at home when teaching a sourdough class, and makes my recipes better than I do!

He even makes a restaurant style steak for me at home whenever I ask him to 🥩

He’s been with me through some of my most challenging days, cheering me on and supporting me no matter what. And he probably has a smile on his face while he is doing it 😊

🍁Exactly 3 years ago, I challenged myself with a 4 mile hike after spending months healing my own body. It was so difficult and I was breathless the entire time. But at the top of the mountain I found this note and it all felt perfect.

This past weekend, I did that same hike and hiked to the top of that same mountain. It’s hard to describe how much has changed for the better in these 3 years in a single post but my health, my faith, and my relationships remain what’s important.

I reflected back on a few things that I like to live by each day and hope maybe these can help you too:
1. No one knows your body as well as you. So it’s time to stop ignoring what she has to say.
2. God is so good. Even in the waiting, the mundane, and the valleys.
3. Put your phone down and go outside. Put your bare feet on the ground, lay in the sun, and breathe some fresh air.
