Today, a beautiful soul came into the clinic. They were dressed in all black except for their white clerical collar. Their smile and countenance were infectious. It was my first time seeing them as a patient and we spent the better part of 45 minutes sharing with other our stories (it’s important to me as a clinician to know my patients and them, in turn, knowing me).
Before our time together was over, they prayed for me…and then offered some prophetic words of encouragement over my life and the year ahead. The timing of this visit (in the middle of my busiest days in weeks) was divine intervention. They were truly an instrument of God today…their voice being my Heavenly Father speaking to his son.
So often I get so busy with work that I forget my patients are sometimes the voice of the Divine when my heart is broken, worn out, burned out or tired. Before they left the office he told me that my 2025 life-scripture was from Psalm 91…
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
