Each year at the NC MedAssist Executive Luncheon, we recognize an outstanding individual who demonstrates compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to our mission.

The Joyce Award for Excellence in Volunteerism honors the legacy of Dr. Donald and Carmel Joyce, whose commitment to service helped shape the culture of volunteerism that defines NC MedAssist today. This award recognizes individuals who reflect that same spirit — those who quietly and consistently give their time to improve the lives of others.

For nearly a decade, Bobbi Hague has been one of those individuals. Quietly and consistently, she has made a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families across North Carolina. From sorting and stocking medication and training volunteers to supporting Mobile Free Pharmacy events, Bobbi has dedicated more than 650 hours to our mission.

Inspired by family values that emphasized giving back whenever possible, her commitment to service began long before NC MedAssist. Today, she continues to live that belief through thoughtful, dependable, and impactful volunteer work.

Volunteers like Bobbi are the reason our mission continues to grow — and why more North Carolinians can access the medications they need to lead healthier, more stable lives.

The Atrium Health Women's Care Drive to Thrive returns to the OTC Free Store this Thursday! This mobile medicine unit will be on-site every fourth Thursday of the month, from 9AM - 3:30PM, providing a variety of services to empower women to take control of their health.

This month, we'll also have an NC MedAssist team member available to help eligible patients enroll in our Free Pharmacy Program.

This week, we’re celebrating the people who help make our mission possible.

From planning, governing, and providing thought leadership, to sorting and stocking over-the-counter medicine in our warehouse and supporting Mobile Free Pharmacy events, volunteers extend our reach and help remove barriers to medication access across North Carolina. Because of their generosity, we’re able to sustain our programs that provide thousands of individuals and families with access to the medicines they need to live healthier, more stable lives.

To everyone who has volunteered with NC MedAssist, thank you for helping us make an impact across North Carolina.

We want to extend our overwhelming gratitude to Novant Health for serving as the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s NC MedAssist Executive Luncheon, and to Luncheon Chair Andrea Reed for leading a dedicated committee that helped us exceed our goals. Together, we raised more than $310,000 to support our work and the patients we serve across North Carolina.
