Welcome to Absorb, “everything your skin needs”! Offering skincare services since 2008 in Charlo Hi, I'm Janiese, Skin Specialist and owner of Absorb, LLC.

I am obsessed with skincare & esthetics. Having dealt with horrible skin issues throughout most of my 20's, I know firsthand how frustrating it can be and this is partly why I am passionate about skincare! Because I understand, I have a great heart of compassion for those who have faced similar battles and excitement for helping others overcome. Another reason I love what I do can be simply put, I love people. I have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, hear their stories, and educate on skincare as the industry is constantly changing. Over the last 13 years, I've had the privilege to work at some of the best spas in Charlotte. My professional career began at locally owned, Carmen! Carmen! then transitioning to Re Salon & Medspa to gain a deeper experience with medical skincare treatments. After that, I spent seven years helping to build up a smaller, thriving esthetics business in the Myers Park area, Toccare Spa. I have been blessed to travel, meet wonderful educators, work with superior skincare lines, obtain certifications in countless continuing education programs, and have met and worked with some of the best in the industry! Now being the owner of Absorb, I bring the years of experience and education to offer superior and high-integrity service of skincare to my clients. Today was one for the books.

I am NOT a runner and never have been. I’ve always worked out and have enjoyed fitness to some capacity but never just straight running. I can’t even say that I love it, even after today, but what I do love is a challenge. Then my very seasoned runner friend asked if I wanted to train for a half marathon and I didn’t hesitate or even process what all that meant before saying “yes”.

And a challenge is exactly what the last several months have been. I went from only ever running 5k’s to weekly distances I never thought was possible.
I trained, I complained and I took more magnesium baths than I can count but I made it to the finish line 🙌🏻🏃🏻‍♀️

Huge shout out to my special friend, . I couldn’t have done this without her. She cheered, guided, encouraged and pushed me throughout the whole process and I’m forever grateful. And to put the cherry on top of it all, my amazing husband joined us.

Happy Birthday to my fun and full of life angel boy.

I could write a book about all the things I love about this kid but I’ll only share a few.

I love your obsession with legos and superheroes.

I love how curious you are about everything and ask such inquisitive questions. I love your dance moves after you win a game of Uno or just because you’re avoiding eating dinner.

I love how you make me laugh with your humor, facial expressions and infectious laughter. I especially love your gentle and sensitive heart for others and the Lord.

Your endless energy keeps me tired (lol), but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
