(GFS) has served the Charlotte metro area dedicated to providing exceptional service . . . "Serving the Family with Dignity and Personal Understanding" is our motto. The original funeral home established by Mr. Grier and his brother, Leroy was located on First Street in the historic Brooklyn Community of Charlotte. In 1965, it relocated to 2310 Statesville Avenue, each time being for the betterment and progress of the Funeral Service. In 1994, when the Company could not renew its lease with the owner of the Statesville Avenue property, it purchased the former McGee Presbyterian Church to its current location at 115 John McCarroll Avenue (formerly known as North Cloudman Street). The street was named John McCarroll Avenue in 2007 in honor of the President of Grier Funeral Service, Inc., John A. McCarroll who has worked with the company and served this community since 1936. Our funeral directors, embalmers, and support staff are highly qualified and experienced in handling the many details involved with burial and cremations. Grier Funeral Service is conveniently located at 115 John McCarroll Avenue in the Hoskins community off of Brookshire Freeway/Highway 16 (Exit 36 at I-85). Our well maintained facility at GFS offers a chapel with a church-like atmosphere, spacious viewing rooms, convenient parking, and a conference room and private offices to conduct business.

To our Loyal Patrons:

As the holiday season is upon us, we would like to show you that we are concerned and we care about the families we serve. We would like to thank you for the trust and the confidence you have placed in GRIER FUNERAL SERVICE. To show our appreciation, we would like to help you memorialize your loved ones whom we have served from November 1, 2019 through October 31, 2020.

Due to the COVID 19 protocol, we will not have our in person Annual Memorial Service but instead a Virtual Memorial Service.
