Hello. Hi. It’s me, , former owner of . In light of the troubling events from this past week, as a new administration seems intent on dismantling our democracy, I feel it’s important to revisit these slides from a few years ago. My belief has always been the same: yoga is deeply intertwined with the political landscape, and the ancient texts make that abundantly clear.

This studio and the vibrant community we have built will always prioritize compassion and justice over the rise of fascism. Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to one another.

We are not just a yoga studio. Here are {only a few} of the things we give a sh*t about:
Abortion Rights. Inclusiveness. Climate Change. Feminism. Gun Reform. Black Lives Matter. Same-Sex Marriage. Liveable Wages. Voting Rights.
NoDa Yoga is Pro-Choice.
NoDa Yoga is for all folks who want more ‘choices’ from their yoga practice.
NoDa Yoga is proudly reconized as a brave space in our community and we will continue to fight inside and outside the studio, so all humans have the right to determine the course of their lives, including the right to an abortion.
We welcome all LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Differently-Abled, and Non-Traditionally Structured Families. If this offends you, we are not the right yoga studio for you.
We will no longer reach across our yoga mats to anyone who doesn’t believe in our humanity, in the humanity of those we love.

We have an extraordinary student from our Theatre Gap Initiative who is on the brink of achieving her dream to attend college, but she needs our help to get there. Despite having no parental support, she has demonstrated incredible resilience and determination, securing scholarships and grants. However, she still faces a financial gap that may prevent her from attending.

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to reconnect and share some exciting news about the path I’ve taken since we last connected. I’ve embarked on a fulfilling journey with Theatre Gap Initiative (TGI), and I’m thrilled to share the details with you.

Over past two years, I’ve been serving as the Program Director for TGI, an organization that holds a special place in my heart. Leveraging my background in wellness as a yoga studio owner and instructor, I’ve been integrating my expertise into the innovative work of TGI. It’s been an incredible experience, combining my passion for service with the transformative power of the arts.

TGI’s mission is to be a vital first step in producing America’s next generation of Black and Brown actors, musicians, playwrights, and directors. High school graduates accepted to TGI in their gap year will receive intensive preparation for successfully applying to Bachelor of Fine Arts programs. Our rigorous BFA curriculum equips young artists with the skills, mentors, and opportunities they need to excel in stage, film, television, and theatre-arts education careers.

Dear NoDa Yoga friends,
With a heavy heart, I’m writing to you today to let you know NoDa Yoga will be closing its doors.
November 30, 2023 will be the last day of classes offered by NoDa Yoga.
We’ve discussed this with our team of teachers and staff, and we are committed to bringing you the very best of yoga right up until the end. We hope you’ll continue to support us as we navigate this next phase with as much grace and integrity as possible.
We believe deeply in the power of yoga to change lives and believe it plays an important part in communities.
NoDa Yoga may be going away but we are very excited and happy to announce Vicie Moran of Charlotte Family Yoga has agreed to take over the space. The driving mission of Charlotte Family Yoga is to create an inclusive yoga community that can meet students where they are in their practice.
Though the studio will be changing ownership, several of the NoDa Yoga teachers will remain and continue to offer a space for you to land. We hope you can find community and practice within Charlotte Family Yoga.
We will be sending communication with details pertaining to class packages and membership expirations in the next few days.
