Monarch’s very first Annual Spring Impact Day was a success! 🌷

Together, 111 Monarch employees gathered across 16 locations in North Carolina and Rhode Island in partnership with various non-profit organizations to give back to our communities! Not only was this an opportunity to make an impact, it was an opportunity to connect and engage with staff across teams in our shared commitment to service, community and collaboration. Thank you to all of our staff and community partners that participated to make this experience a success, we are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together! 🧡

We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to connect, serve and grow together! 🦋

Monarch is proud to be the presenting sponsor for NAMIWalks Cabarrus-Rowan-Stanly on May 16! 💚

Each year, communities gather to walk in support of mental health awareness and NAMI, a leading organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by mental illness through education, advocacy and programs. We can’t wait to connect with Cabarrus, Rowan and Stanly county communities next month as we work towards expanding access to mental healthcare with the opening of the Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center in Cabarrus county later this year.

Visit NAMI Cabarrus to learn more.🩵 If you're interested in joining Team Monarch, reach out to Nicole.Sigmon@MonarchNC.org for more information!

Staff Spotlight: Alison Johnson 🌟

For the past four years, Alison Johnson has played a pivotal role in Monarch’s commitment to helping youth in crises. After spending time working as part of our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, Alison transitioned into her role as Director of Occupational Therapy at the SECU Youth Crisis Center (YCC), where she supports kids and teens in overcoming emotional, social and behavioral challenges. Alison and her team teach youth various emotional regulation strategies, communication skills and how to use creativity as a form of expression among other interventions to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed when they leave the SECU YCC. Read more about Alison’s impact at www.monarchnc.org/staff-spotlight-ot-alison-johnson/ 🩵

Mental illness and substance use disorders impact more than the person with the diagnosis, their families and loved ones need support as well.

Our Family Peer Support (FPS) Services allow caregivers of loved ones with emotional and behavioral challenges to receive support from other caregivers with lived expertise navigating similar situations. From one-on-one mentoring to learning coping skills, we help families advocate for their children, navigate multiple systems and build confidence through community support. ❤️‍🩹

No one should have to navigate mental illness alone. 🧡 Learn more about FPS and eligibility at https://ow.ly/wTMJ50YK658

Since 2018, Monarch has provided a safe environment for youth experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis to receive treatment at our SECU Youth Crisis Center (YCC) in Charlotte, NC. ❤️‍🩹

The center offers short-term (7-14 days) stabilization for youth ages 6-17 who are exhibiting signs of a psychiatric episode, suicidal thoughts, unmanageable behavioral concerns and/or substance abuse. With support from our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists and other trained staff, specialized treatment plans are developed for each child depending on their specific needs to begin their journey to recovery.

As we extend our services to Cabarrus County with the Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center (SMMBHC) in Concord, we will staff a Youth Facility-Based Crisis (FBC) Center offering services similar to the SECU YCC. 💙

We are honored to have been awarded Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency for 2026, marking another year with this recognition for Monarch! ✨

This recognition is achieved by less than 1% of U.S-based nonprofits and speaks to Monarch's commitment to openly sharing our goals, mission and impact with the communities we serve.

To earn the Candid Platinum Seal, a non-profit organization must meet the following criteria:
🔸Providing complete and accurate information about their mission, programs, finances, and governance
🔸Sharing their strategic priorities and information about their impacts
🔸Being open to feedback and engagement from the public

We are grateful for every person who puts their trust in Monarch and remain committed to maintaining that trust through transparency. 🧡

We are tremendously grateful to Davidson United Methodist Churchfor their generous grant, which will directly support our Barnabas group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 💚

In addition to this support, the church continues to give through its Make-A-Difference Collection. Last month, the congregation donated everyday essentials — including paper products, cleaning supplies and household items — for the gentlemen living at Barnabas Home.

We’re incredibly thankful for their hospitality, thoughtful ministry and continued generosity, which helps ensure the people we support have what they need to feel comfortable and at home.
