🌟Staff Spotlight: Erica Bales

For the last eight years, Erica has been with Monarch leading individual and group therapy sessions to help people navigate their mental and behavioral health challenges. She has been celebrated for her non-judgmental and empathetic approach, which creates a safe and supportive environment for people to heal. Over the years, Erica has played a pivotal role in helping Monarch carry out our mission of supporting people through caring and compassionate services 🧡

“I may be an expert in my field, but people are experts on themselves,” said Erica. “I marry my knowledge with their life experience so that we can collaboratively work toward their success in reaching goals. I support people in defining what success looks like for them and working toward that vision.”

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than to share stories of love among the people we support 💝 Pictured are Matthew and Rose Cooper, whose story begins in 1987, when the now-couple met in Edenton, North Carolina through the city’s Adapt Center. Thanks to the kindness of a mentor, their first date at Golden Corral followed shortly after.

Matthew and Rose tied the knot in 2001, and twenty-five years later the couple’s love is still ever-present. Matthew loves that Rose is always happy and smiling, bringing a constant ray of light into his life. For Rose, it is Matthew’s ability to bring forth that smile and make her laugh that brings her joy. This year, they celebrated Valentine’s Day by attending Camden Enrichment Center’s dance on Feb. 6. 💕
